Not really. All it takes is an accusation these days to make people condemn/pull sponsorships/cancel partnerships. And Subway would be no more privy to the investigation than any reporter would, they aren't involved.

It's now being reported that Jared was reported to the FBI for saying "middle school girls are hot" and other improper things in front of a female journalist. From the linked story:

“Middle school girls are hot,” the woman quoted him as saying. Fogle, to her shock, repeated the stunning remark several times, she told WWSB-TV in Sarasota.

“He said something to me when we were off camera and that really stuck with me,” she told the station. “I thought to myself, ‘Did he really say that to me?’”

The woman, whose identity was withheld, said she was so disturbed by the fast food spokesman’s comment that she reached out to the FBI.

“They weren’t jokes,” she told the station. “They were very serious ... It goes deeper than that.”

She claimed the middle school remark was followed by even more disgusting comments, but refused to go into specifics.

A few thoughts:

1). We now live in a society where speaking of "impure thoughts" will get you turned in to authorities. Decades ago, that authority was a priest. Now it's the FBI. Saying the wrong thing now gets you raided.

2). If you're dealing with a female journalist, be careful what you say. This shows why. Remember those little girls in first grade we called "tattletales?" This is them grown up. You cannot make snide remarks, off-color jokes, or sexually-charged banter. It will be taken out of context and used against you. We live in a Gawker world now, and that's not likely to change (unless they put Ellen Pao in charge).

3). If this pans out and the reporter was in the right and he is doing illegal stuff, that brings up another issue.

Let me preface it by first saying I am not condoning anything illegal here. But I want to say that people who commit illegal acts have a way of giving themselves away with their words. They're often undone by themselves and not authorities, in other words.

So if you're doing anything that's not above board -- from computer hacking to stealing donuts from your work lunchroom -- be aware of this odd quirk of human nature. I once saw an entire career in IT ruined because the guy in question was charging his long-distance calls to his workplace and felt the need to blab about it.

Think about that, let it set in. A comment made in passing which may or may not have been serious, and this bitch calls the FBI they get a warrant and destroy his life and reputation. Adria Richards is not an outlier, these bitches think their feelings on a matter constitute federal investigations and court proceedings. Seriously say the wrong thing, anything around the wrong woman, an any context and you could be subject to a federal raid and possible prosecution.

I work with a ton of women and can see this happening. Never say anything that is not shop related to a woman. Ever. They cant take a joke. Pill poppers are even worse. They will talk about all kinds of shit between each other but if a man says anything, hes fucked.
Ignore women until its after midnight and the vodka kicks in. Im sure the FBI would love to take a statement right then.

I worked with a NYU law educated attorney and this bitch overheard me telling some other male attorneys that I was going to college night at a local club because, and I quote myself "I am looking to have fun, not a wedding. If I want a relationship I would go on eharmony where people go to settle." She comes up to us and says that that statement was inappropriate, and offensive and I should watch what I say at work because "she has the right to never be offended." She later filed a claim with HR. This is the mentality men are dealing with in corporate America today, and they wonder why male participation in the workforce is down.

So I was at a Subway a week ago (before this all happened) and I noticed a poster for Sharknado 3 with Jared on it saying something like "Jared's back to take a bite out of Sharknado once again!" I had Googled it, apparently he was in Sharknado 2 and was going to be in the sequel.

Curious, today I looked around and found out that he had been cut from it completely.

This dude's life really is just over.

I lived in South Jersey for about 12 years, and I wondered the same thing. I'm glad to be out of there, but I definitely miss the food. A chain called Gaetano's (not sure of spelling) had a "garlic bread cheesesteak" that was really damn good.
