I'm not linking to any of the articles because they're all fucking retarded. The short of it is that feminists and co. are upset that the ladies team which has won 3 women's world cups is angry that they don't get as much recognition (or pay) as the men's team does. They can't just be satisfied with their rah rah girl power, they have to make it political while using the same logic that's had their wage gap myth ripped to shreds for a couple of years now.

If you see this come up, here's an easy way to shut the argument down.

"Name five teams from the NWSL without looking them up."

Not a single one of these people could name you the domestic teams that any of the ladies plays for, because they aren't watching. And that's why they don't get paid as much. If they got paid as much as the EPL, La Liga, or fuck even the MLS stars got paid, it would bankrupt the league instantly.

If you want to have a more robust response, you can point out that the Women's National Team is comprised of our country's top tier athletes facing off against the rest of the world's top tier athletes, while the Men's team is our country's 3rd/4th tier facing off against the rest of the world's top tier athletes. There's simply no comparison.

Their argument is so simple to blow holes through and yet I've seen countless articles about it posted the past two days and seen a few reports about it on the news.

"BUT WHY DON'T WE PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THE WIMMINZ"

Because they aren't hot. That's why.

The media even torpedoed their own narrative by saying that the Women's World Cup takes in about $27 million compared to $4.3 BILLION (let that ridiculous ratio sink in) for the men's. The women players also get 13% of proceeds while the men get 9%. Where are the cries for equality there?

Also, am I the only one that's been disgusted by some of the antics of the women's team as they've been celebrating? It seems very unsporting to me. Could you imagine someone like Roger Federer doing those things?

Let's just have a game between the USMNT and USWNT and settle this. If the score isn't worse than Vanatu v. Micronesia (sidebar: Vanatu won 48-0 or something a couple days ago; the biggest loss in football history or something) by halftime, then I'd be highly surprised.

Another easy answer to this nonsense about pay is ask all of these idiots if they own season tickets to NWSL teams. The answer will inevitably be 'No.'.

On the 1/100000 chance they do, the next question is if they would pay the thousand plus dollars an equivalent season ticket costs for a Premiership team in England.

Nobody will. End of story.

One of my earlier wake-up calls to Feminism and Grrrrl Power being a sham was actually courtesy of Women's/Girl's soccer.

When I was in high school, our girl's soccer team was ranked one of the top in the nation. I played on the boy's team, and we were perennially "merely" one of the top in our state.

Before the girls' state playoffs at season-end one year, we, as the boys team, was asked by their/our coach to come in during our off-season to scrimmage them to give them a tune-up.

Soccer was one of our school's premier sports, so this attracted a lot of attention in the days leading up to the scrimmage. Male teachers talked a lot of shit to us, saying we could easily lose and yadada, especially since we were coming in on the off-season. The girls themselves, while less delusional than our male feminist teachers, still regularly boasted they could at least score a goal on us and/or maybe even draw us.

We scored 5 goals in the first 20 or so minutes, and started taking players off the field. We won 10-0, ending the match playing 8 on 11, with the 8th player being a girl we subbed in.

Some of these girls were literally future Olympic candidates in soccer and other sports--and for us, dribbling, running, and passing around them wasn't much more challenging than doing so around those orange training cones.

This is one of those laughable arguments which attempt to convince people that their eyes are lying to them. We all know why there's a disparity in attention and money, and it's that in relative terms female soccer players simply aren't good at the sport: they're slow, weak, not particularly skilled or creative and they regularly make elementary errors. As others noted, the current women's world champions regularly get thrashed by schoolboys. Women's soccer is a poor athletic spectacle...no intelligent person will doubt this.

Now the US women's team is getting a Manhattan ticker-tape parade like they're Jesse Owens or something. The adulation is so incredibly silly...it reminds me of those over-the-top middle school graduations where everyone pretends that passing Algebra 1 is some glorious academic triumph. Every honest observer knows full well that it has nothing to do with merit or talent or genuine achievement, it's just that some people are in love with their delusions. Fashionable mediocrity, it's the new normal.

I don't really fuck with sports too tough to be honest, but think about 2 things

1) In America, women control 90% of the household finances.
2) There are roughly equal amounts of men and women in America

So if you've got a majority of the money and possibly a majority of the people - why don't they support their own?

How hard would it be to put down the Ben and Jerry's, pile the kids into the Minivan and take them to a Women's soccer game? Or switch from the Real House Wives of Colorado Springs over the WNBA game?

If these chicks can harass video game companies to include more women, how come you don't see them come out to support the live contests of said video games? (there's a lan party for damn near everything)

Why?

Women's sports are pretty much boring.

Slower paced, less action... lotta times you barely see any finesse.

Men know it.

If the 1/2 of America that also controls the money would shift some shekels towards lesbians in polyester, there wouldn't be a problem.

In all seriousness, and this may rub against the RVF way, but I don't mind women's soccer, I don't mind little girls at least believing things are possible. What I do mind, is this culture of getting what you want without putting in any work. I do mind the double standard (Hope Solo BS). I do believe those chicks on the US team worked pretty hard to get there. I won't shit on hard work.

If I ever had a daughter, I'd want her to believe things were possible for her, but I wouldn't feed her any of the BS that these entitled youngsters eat up regularly.

Edit: Also Title IX has a lot to do with the success of the omen's team. But Title IX only gets funded on the backs of men. They couldn't support women's sports without men's sports, women's sports are not nearly as exciting.

Let's not forget (for the feminist media would not let us forget were the genders reversed) that the US Women's Soccer team won the World Cup with an alleged domestic abuser keeping goal for them.

Solo's charges were only dismissed because of a "lack of cooperation" by the victims. And prosecutors are still appealing that ruling.

After all, feminists frequently scream that failure to get a conviction in court for abuse does not mean the abuse did not happen -- so there is no reason to not apply that same presumption here.

And women's skills in sports are not the next hottest thing since sliced bread. We are a dimorphic species where males are tremendously overpowered to females. If we were some spider species, where the females are 10 times stronger, then it would be different.

And unless something like the blowjob olympics don't happen, then there is no way how women's sport will ever reach male level of revenue - no matter the push from above.
