Studies to complete. Universities there are not competitive yet.
With my degree, job opportunities are higher here than there too. At least, for the moment.
Also, France is my adoption country, always loved it and its culture since I was young.
I recognize myself strongly in France's values. Both countries really shaped me. And I feel more closer to France than to my original country (family excepted).
Girlfriend here, French mentality, adaptation to French customs, I think that except for the papers, I can be assumed to be French.

Those 2 countries cannot be compared. True - Senegal is highly secular - you have open prostitution, alcohol etc. - the Muslim faith is a matter of private choice there. But you cannot compare living there to China. They offer military escorts to some visitors actively! Those are not the good kind of escorts I want to have offered.

Not only is safety in China much less of an issue, but the gap in technology, economics and civilization is too steep. Even if your monthly budget is 1000$ then there are better non-Muslim countries who offer more bang for buck.

But of course it should be possible to have a predominantly Muslim country which prospers greatly if that said state keeps the religion as far as possible from power, science, politics, economics and has an eye out for radical preachers. Essentially the Europeans had to do the same with the Christian church centuries ago.

Getting slightly off topic here, but the eradication of the Norse gods is still a sore point for Scandinavian nationalists - see for example the "black metal" church burnings in Norway.

To establish the Christian faith, temples and holy places were destroyed, and as an oral tradition it was very susceptible to being overrun by the books and teachings of Christians.

It was quite a ruthless strategy, but also very effective. What we know about the Norse religion is through architectural research, very little survived as received knowledge.

Senegal is an ethnically homogenous, tolerant, traditional, and prosperous little country in Africa that is often overlooked. I would say it is the Norway of Africa from doing a bit of research on it. Truly an unusual example of the Muslim world.

@Zelcorpion That is disturbing indeed. Sweden's government officials (with leftist supporters blindly following behind) seem intent on destroying a country that has spent generations building itself into one of the most successful democracies in the world.
And the same story is repeated across much of Western Europe (albeit with not quite the same zealousness as in Sweden).
When I try to bring up these kind of points in conversation with friends/colleagues, I can see that many of them are uncomortable with what I say, the level of media brainwashing here is such that many people in Western Europe(and the Anglosphere generally) see such points as racist or Islamophobic, although I am just stating the facts.
Is it possible to undo decades of indoctrination?
I sincerly hope so, as otherwise the future of Western Europe in the medium to long term looks grim.

Police officers and police partners were informed about the development in the investigation on Wednesday.

Ah, the joys of multicultural Bradford, eh. Before someone says that this happens the other way round....I'm sure it does, or at least used to. However, if it happened today the media would be on it right away and trying to turn it into a narrative about how all whites "need to look at themselves". Kind of like Salon did here, and were exposed.



This isn't a critique of Islam, but just a critique of what happens when you let immigrant communities self-ghettoise. Particularly hostile immigrant communities, which is where I might begin to criticise political Islam. My own thinking on the matter has become more moderate over the past 12 months, as I've done a ton of reading/watching on the subject. Islam in the 70s say, even in countries like Afghanistan wasn't a problem - it's the politicisation that's happened since, and Western policies are partially to blame. I highly recommend this book by Maajid Nawaz. Sam Harris has also written a book with him.

There's definitely a problem in the Pakistani culture though. Or at least in the Pakistanis who emigrated to these Northern mill towns in the 60s/70s/80s. Apparently most came from the most backward part of that country and they all marry cousins etc, even to this day, so they haven't adapted or integrated beyond just learning/butchering the language.

The Pakistanis in northern England are usually Mirpuri, not Punjabi. I'm not sure how a Punjabi accent comes into it.

The video is not shocking to me at all, I saw a lot of incidents like this as a kid in UK. It’s just schoolkids beating the shit out of another schoolkid. This is being blown out of proportion. It about religion, or race?

Pakistanis in UK sometimes don't get on with other Muslims. Before the asylum seekers came in, there was no tension with whites and Pakistanis in the town:

On Thursday, Mr Shabbir told BBC News Online tension had been brewing because of the "perceived" anti-social behaviour by Kurds and some Afghan youths.

But he said the catalyst for the trouble was "inappropriate behaviour" towards a Pakistani woman.

Cambridgeshire Police Ch Supt Nigel Sunman said the long-established Pakistani community and the asylum seekers had clearly articulated what was disturbing the other community.

"It is cultural differences in the large part. We are getting to understand those issues and what we are trying to do is feed back to each of the communities what it is that is antagonising them," he said.

Peterborough City Council's director of community services, Sheila Grant, said the authority was doing all it could to end racial tension between the city's four communities.

Lol, this never happened in my town growing up. Maybe you should rethink your assumptions.
