This remind me of an actual conversation I had with a Chinese American FB a couple of weeks ago

Her: My Chinese-American friend was in a LTR with a Chinese-American guy a couple of years ago. She was with him for a long time and they broke up so she decided to have some fun.
Me: What did she do?
Her: We used to go to bars and lounges every weekend, she would get really drunk and sometimes pass out. She used to meet guys at the bar and leave with them.

Let's not be too hard on the guy. It is beta and the wrong move to bring flowers on a first date, but it's pretty fucked up that in 2015 this kind of behavior is considered 'creepy' and 'weird' by carousel riders instead of sweet and endearing. It's our job to adjust to the terrain, but let's face it, the terrain fucking sucks.

The dude:

- Stable accounting job. Flowers ain't cheap, and neither is a $$$ Yelp dinner, so at least he ain't broke. My guess is in three years he'll get a comfy public finance job worth almost six-figures.

- Dude's white, with a chiseled chin and defined jawline. Height might be a bit off, but he already lifts. So that's a start.

- He knows a bit about dressing nice. Now he just has to put some edge on it.

I am not disrespecting him.

He honestly tried to do the right thing and he tried to be a blessing to someone. We know this to be folly as most of us have gone full circle from nice guy to realists via PUA.

I was visiting my family in the Northwest and went to dinner with my sister and her friend. Sitting at the table next to us was a 19-20 year old guy sitting alone with a bundle of roses next to him. He kept checking his phone while eagerly looking at the entrance waiting for his date.

After about 20 minutes he looks down at his phone with a defeated look on his face and then proceeded to mope out of the restaurant after getting stood up.

The kid is Jewish and not tall (but not short either) - already that's a massive obstacle in her mind. The fact that he's beta is on him, but I literally don't know what his winning move could have been. Since the girl has no redeeming qualities, I'd either:

A. Just bail. No reason to climb uphill for a 6 on her best day.
B. Use the airtime as advertising for other women who might be watching. This kid stuck with it and now has a "nice guy" rep for any women who were watching...not easy to overcome. Being labeled an asshole would have been a better move. Even this is a gamble since the producers might cut to footage to sell their "nice guy with a party girl" narrative.
