Jokes aside, this girl actually has a slice of common sense compared to a lot of women these days. I bet she really wanted to make sure you were traceable so she could leave your info with a friend in case you went Ted Bundy on her ass.

I've actually asked women for info like this so I could look them up on Facebook and get a real glimpse of what they looked like and make sure they weren't fifty-year-old men pretending to be women. I always got the info out of them nonchalantly, but kudos to her for being direct.

I mean, think about it. If you were a psycho looking for an easy victim, you probably would have moved on by now.

EDIT: Not that any of this means I would have given her a straight answer.

She texted me real early this morning:

"I've been thinking about tonight and truthfully I'm very nervous. I really don't know you well at all and I'd really just prefer to meet for dinner and then drive back tonight. I hope you understand"

I was going to set her up in a decent hotel and, of course, try to bounce her there for drinks after dinner.

I texted back "sure that's fine, I don't want you to be uncomfortable"

She also hit me up to be a connection on LinkedIn which I accepted.

My take is she may be a little new to this or she's just a cautious girl. I know she's active in her sorority at a fairly "conservative" southern school and in her community in general for what it's worth. Who knows, maybe a diamond ( an actual good non slut girl ) in the rough?

Obviously, if things go well, I'm going to try to persuade her to stay here and go for it tonight but I'll let her decide. We'll see...

Turn this around. If she's good at her research and says " hey, how come 19 years in the business, that would make you 43, not 33", tell her that you exaggerated to look like you have more experience in business. That you've really only been in business 10 years.

Depending what you do, you could spin it as you started off as a sideline at school, so the 19 years is technically correct. So you restored your first muscle car in your Dads garage at age 14 and you've had your own muscle car restoration business for the last ten years but you really do have 19 years of restoring muscle cars!

I wouldn't admit to her about lying about your age though.

Everyone knows sororities are just whore houses. They are more sexualized and party-oriented than fraternities. A lot of sorority hazings specifically involve hooking up with fraternity pledges.

How are your logistics? Do you live alone? If not, do what the previous poster said and book a room for you or know of one you can quickly get if the conditions shift in your favor. Good point there about making sure the logistics add up easily without having to panic book anything while she watches on. But before getting to that point, my gut feel is that this chic is going to be asking a couple more uncomfortable questions before the food goes down!

NB: This year alone I have had at least 3 lizards flake after apparently googling my name, and that's without my surname. If your name is unique enough then you're screwed and the stuff that came up when I googled my name made me realised I was always going to be in trouble for having a Mrs. lol

I now have a game/stage name which is rather more interesting and creates an instant topic of discussion right from the opening!

Good sign that she is willing to drive that far, girls who do usually want to have a good time. Added to the fact they are "off the grid" from anyone who knows them.

Hopefully you have it set for 8pm or later, so when you add alcohol to the equation and a couple bounces you have a built in excuse for her to stay over

Don't get discouraged about her last minute apprehension that's normal; you have her on your turf, two hours away from home and you are the tour guide for the evening.

I think the main reason for this thread should be if any of us encounter this in the future on dates. That is, a girl asking for our personal info to check us.

If you Google my first and last name, then type attorney or lawyer, you probably won't find anything on me and what will come up is a bunch of stuff about some guy
who has some serious issues, both personal and professional. I think he's actually been disbarred. Nothing good has ever happened from a girl who has demanded my last name. Actually, a few years back, I was in Miami, and some girl started making out with me after about ten seconds of conversation, then started asking for my last name. Weird.
