If you want good internet while in a coffee shop tether your phone. You could also buy a 4G UBS stick/portable router and load it, but for a short stay tethering is fine.

- Bring an unlocked GSM smartphone
- Buy a Globe SIM upon arrival at the airport or next day at Globe shop (in every mall)

- The extra 500 pesos should be enough for 3-4 weeks for phone calls (avoid calling if if you can, it's expensive), texting, and adding more data to your plan when you go over.

This is a great breakdown. I just want to add when I got my Globe Sim card I either got a 3G or 4G Sim card (Can't remember which), but what I do remember was I could've gotten a "higher" speed sim card for my phone. I didn't find this out until 6 weeks later.

Of course that's only useful if you're in an area that has that higher speed service.

So, for example, if you have a phone that's 4G LTE, ask if they have a 4G LTE sim card. It might not matter in the end, because few places have 4G LTE, but if you find yourself in a spot that does...

Got a weird system going here. I am pipelining all around Autonomous region in Muslim Mindanao! lol What an adventure! I have pipelined Kabacan, Isulan and Cotabato city as well as Midsayap and Iligan, all muslim areas. Will be interesting to stay a while in Kabacan, the heart of ARMM territory with a real sexy pinay for company lol I am further exploring the combination of adventure with gaming pinays in places you would never think an American citizen would do it!

Yes truth is, I really CAN meet them like that. Kabacan is a liberated city in the middle of ARMM territory where girls from around this area come and stay away from their families to go to college. They are away from their families and enjoy freedom and Kabacan is a great place to game girls lol

Not really. I had girls start questioning me about my location saying YOU ARE IN THE PHILIPPINES RIGHT NOW!!! When I am trying to tell them I am not so they don't think I am just wandering the country. So when the site does not let me change my location it does require this scale of problem solving. I know it seems pointless. Until girls start saying you are lying to them about your location and it ruining the contacts.
