I had the pleasure of hanging with Roosh along with some other good friends, including Darius, our two NYC buddies, and Roosh's friend from the South American days.

I met up with Darius and Roosh at Phebes in East Village around 6p, on a weekday. They were already pretty tipsy. The guys quickly brought me up to speed on why Roosh was here(the man himself can make the reveal). The reason was hilarious and I can't wait for what happens next.

I had never met Roosh in person but we've had a few email back and forths throughout the past few years. We were both surprised in that he didn't know that I was Clint Barton on the forum.

Got to see the man make some approaches at the bar. He was digging the responses from the NYC girls, some who were local and others from outside the states. Roosh has got the gift of keeping the convo going and keeping the woman interested: clown game.

We hit up the Wren next for some burgers. More drinks. More approaches. Darius and Roosh and his homie were getting pretty buzzed having some food at the bar and chatting up some girls while me and the other guys sat down to eat and catch up. Roosh comes back and buys our table a round of shots and gives us an update on what he thinks about NYC and the girls he's been macking.

My cute Russian couchsurfing girl shows up and I introduce her to "Ryan"(Roosh) and they chat a bit in Russian. Roosh told me he approved and that he would bang.

By this time Darius was pretty tired. The guys I was eating with were beat from work and went home. Darius and I wanted to say peace out to Roosh but he was nowhere to be found. Assumed he had left with one of the girls we saw him gaming. Darius gets into a taxi, while I take my Russian to Von to grab some more drinks and dance a little bit.

I made out with her at Von and brought her back to my pad. She and her friend are staying with another CS host but she crashed with me last night. Lots of making out and fondling her amazing body and got a handjob but no +1/flag. She crashed the next night too, before she had to leave, but no dice. If its going down, it'll be in Russia later this summer.

Roosh gave me the update on the rest of his night. He went for the bang but "only" kissed as the girl wanted him to get the number. Then he went out a bit more for some solo game.

Thoughts: Roosh is a friendly guy. An intelligent and funny motherfucker too, but you already knew that. He didn't come off as a dick at all. No fear in approaching and once he has made his approach he can keep the convo going as long as he wants. I'd say the thing that stands out the most was that he was VERY genuine. The man believes in what he writes and keeps it real.

Funny thing is I didn't expect him to get so buzzed. My guess was that he doesn't get to hang out with the fellas as much since he moves every few months and can find it hard to trust people as a pseduo-celeb. I think he had a blast just being with a fun group of men again and being in a land of his native tongue. No man is an island...

Finally, he would KILL it here in NYC. He looked around and saw lots of possibilities. Too bad he only had one night.

I usually don't drink for an 8 hour stretch starting at 4pm, but the Polish vodka is good training.

It was really great hanging out with a crew of guys similar to me, and also to meet Clint who I've been in touch with for a long time now. I have a long article about the NY trip coming up... I was pleasantly surprised with the city.

NYC the last time I went in November is the only U.S. city I can remember night gaming in where I can remember strong high amount of IOIs from girls hanging with their mixed groups even at low key well-lit bars in such a short time span.

Not the same in SoCal, Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale, Boulder/Denver, Portland, Seattle. Completely different feel, the girls look hungry. Also I noticed NYC has a lot of a metrosexual guys - they dress well, but they don't look like they can throw down and fuck a girl well like a lot of SoCal guys (bros, brahs, MMA dudes missing, meatheads) look like.

Better dressed, but much weaker competition. All the finance guys look like dorks and I have two close family relatives and a close family friend all in NYC finance. They have money, but usually not much game and they seem like the strongest competition on average apart from hipsters with their act together.

Still when I came on this board I heard over and over "if you can make it in NYC gaming you can make it anywhere" looking back that is hilarious. NYC has to be the easiest place to game in the U.S. once you are past college age and off campus and excluding Vegas nightlife.

Good gaming city. The chicks I met though DTF, had a piece of their soul missing and were so into their careers and getting drunk. Did not feel fulfilling talking to them. Easy sex, paper-thin cheap femininity was my gut reaction.

I'm a SoCal man myself but have lived here in NYC for a long time and can say there are some good players here in NYC that can throw down. NYC is the most international city in the US, which means you are gonna get a variety and volume of hoes and men who have game.

I've seen hipsters w/ game but IMO the strongest players who get the high end girls are those with money, game, decent looks, AND time on their side. Or fame/status, which trump all those things. This is an expensive city and dudes work a lot. All the game and money in the world means little if you don't have the time unload those bullets.

If a man thinks they coming to NYC and pussy is gonna fall out of the sky, their expectations too high.

That said, Travesty444 is right this is one of the best cities to game in. It is also THE best city in the US to live in. There are lots of reasons I'm here and not in LA.

Game in NYC seems like dressing well and having a place in Lower Manhattan hopefully with no roommates and even that isn't a deal breaker.

A few of my thoughts:

1) It's true what he says about 'the grind' here. Many people here are gunning to be in the top 1% of whatever field they're in. So that entails total focus and workaholism.

2) Also true: there's simply so much to do in NYC that one can go out every night, so one needs discipline oneself to have a balanced life, or your health and work will suffer. There's just too much temptation out there. Just sitting at home will give you FOMO.

3) Another factor that bears repeating: NYC is one of the most international cities in the world. I'd say nearly 40% of the girls I approach are from other countries (tourists, au pairs, flight attendants, etc.) In fact, in the last year or so, 3 of my 'flags' (Spanish, Japanese, Lithuanian) were from NYC approaches.

Roosh did you consider coming to Montreal for a couple months in the summer (June to August) before going to NYC if you do that one day?

With the current exchange rate, you would get more bang for your buck here.

For 2000$ a month you could get a huge luxurious condo in the downtown area and for 1500$ you could get something very decent and somewhat spacious.

Manhattan is a 300$ USD return flight and takes 55 min.

I do admit there are more girls in Manhattan, specially in the general Soho area and central manhattan, but the price to live there is 2.5 Montreal without the exchange rate.

Montreal is also close to Miami by plane and has a lot of cheap direct flights to Europe.

If nothing beats NYC in terms of pure quantity of hot girls, Montreal is very close in terms of where I would want to live in North America in the summer if money was not an issue and I was single.

Looking forward to your lecture here in MTL.

That article is astonishingly right on point. New York is a great city if you have the means and time, but most people don't have one or either of them. Living in the prime spots costs an arm and a leg, and living too far away takes away from opportunities and adds commute time.


While walking around New York, I was paranoid of getting hit by a car, so I looked both ways before crossing streets and generally followed the “Don’t Walk” signals. I was shocked to see so many people walking while texting in such an environment. I don’t know how often pedestrians get hit in New York, but it seemed like they were putting their lives in danger.

I got a good chuckle out of this. Even before the emergence of smartphones, pedestrians were pretty awful in Manhattan. Some of those people are tourists but many of them are just impatient people going to some place (usually their office...or local lunch spot). It's almost a game of chicken to see how far one can go into the street without being hit by a car at any given corner.

Pretty much. I barely meet any girls from here. It's always out of state or out of the country. Helps with my game because being one of the few natives left it gives me a bit of street cred.

While living in Manhattan has obvious logistical benefits it it still a better option for most guys to have a much more affordable place in Brooklyn or Queens. I pay about half in Brooklyn what I would in Manhattan. This has not cost me that many bangs because many of the girls live in Manhattan themselves. You need to perfect the bathroom weasel move! Works about 90% of the time for me. It also helps that I have a car, so many times on a first or second date I will drive a girl back to her apartment in Manhattan. I'm still close enough that I can pull the dinner date move at my place on date 2 or 3. You just have to be smart enough to work the system as it is set up.

1) No need for a car in NYC. No money spent on insurance, a nice car, or parking. No parking tickets. No DUIs. No need to be stuck in traffic. Biking and taxis and public transportation work for my lifestyle. 20 min commute on average to my office.

2) A walkable city like NYC means more opportunity for day game.

3) Bars close at 4a in NYC compared to 2a in Cali.

4) Dress code to get into a NYC nightlife spot isn't silly like LA is. In fact most NYC places dont have a strict dress code. Places like the Edison in LA have denied me access because I was wearing boat shoes as those weren't dressy enough, while I can get into Ph.D or Le Bain wearing jogger sweats.

5) NYC has a more diverse and accessible volume of women than LA does.

6) Shorter flights to Europe and my favorite South American spots.

7) Volume of dining, cultural opportunities, and events.

8) Since my friends all live in Manhattan or just a few stops into the boros, it is easy to be spontaneous and meetup with them the same day, sometimes within the hour. Impromptu dinners at my crib or theirs, bike rides, or just grabbing a coffee/beer is a text or call away.

I loved LA when I lived there. I miss the beaches, the great weather, the tacos and mexican hot dogs and the relaxed vibe. I was raised in SoCal and went to school out there. Ive still got most of my family and college buddies there. But NYC is where its at for the girls, excitement, and a great lifestyle as a single man.

Quite frankly the only reason one should ever have a car within city limits is if one leaves the city frequently or lives too far away from the prime spots and needs to run errands without heading into Manhattan. On that matter it's obviously personal preference, but if you're gaming there aren't really any places that come close to the quality of New York within striking distance (except Montréal but that's still 6 hours by car).
