dog park or walk your dogs together

walk on the beach (or anywhere along the water, across a bridge, county park, etc)

any type of local market (farmer's, art/craft show type, etc)

Find somewhere interesting to walk around and take pictures. or draw/paint

play scrabble or some other type of game.

Stand up comedy shows. usually an open mic type night somewhere

Local music shows can be free.

Volleyball, tennis, any sport that can you can both play

Bike ride


Then depending on where you live there are going to be plenty of other options specific to your area. get all the local papers, check local interest websites, brochures at local hotels, gas stations, rest stops, etc. Read those and start making a list. Throughout the year add to this list as you find more and more stuff to do.

If I ask a girl out, I expect to pick up the tab. However, I like to make the girl pay at the next venue of the same night (dessert shop, Starbucks, karaoke, etc). If the girl pays even if it's a small amount, then I know she's invested into our "relationship" subconsciously.
