Man, what I wouldn't pay to revive even just part of these traditional etiquette







The original name that the Chinese people call themselves is Huaxia, which means cultured beauty and etiquette. It was a defining characteristic that the Chinese used to distinguish themselves from the Yi.

Nowadays many people acts like barbarians. It's probably only temporary since most of them are newly rich peasants (and even their loud rudeness is not that bad, it is for me a sign of assertive vigor and healthy instinct, much preferable to the PC-whipped timidity, the lack of vitality and self-assertive daring of so many 'civilized people'). A few generations later and they will pay more attention to etiquette (optimally, while maintaining a strong inner forward drive). As the old Chinese saying goes, wealth and high status breed courtesy and respectability (富贵生礼义). Even outward appearance are more potent and important to social order and national strength than they are usually given credit for. China needs all the wealth and technological progress it can get, but it also needs a strong culture and manner, to accomplish "the great Rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."
The Chinese upper class currently adopted many Western etiquettes, and West-worship is far from fringe, but as China grows more powerful there will also grow a need among the people to have their own etiquette, especially when they witness the decline and failure of the West. (Which is also one of the reasons why China not growing as fast as it can is not necessarily a bad thing, they need to witness the consequences of Western culture's depravity before growing rich to take a lesson for themselves and avoid treading the same path). Apart from STEM fields and STEM-related matters, China should maintain its distinctness from the West.

The CPC can definitely civilly promote the revival of traditional etiquettes in many ways, such as by requiring party members to practice them and setting examples for the populaces.

I support the underlying spirit of this movement though not its particular manifestation. Each Chinese dynasty has their own clothing style. The new China will need a new clothing style that is both dynamic, modern and with Chinese characteristics. Chinese fashion designers can definitely do it. The party only need to promote it, publicly and among their ranks. If the Sikhs can keep their own attire, why can't the Chinese do better?

Judge Timothy Casewell sought a probation officer’s report to study the possibility of a non-custodial sentence for the woman, but refused to seek the same for the father.

“The situation is different,” Casewell said. “The consideration is different.”

The court heard earlier that the pair’s intimate encounters took place when the daughter was 19 years old. The encounters came to light when the woman’s younger brother, who was then a secondary school pupil, found footage of the intercourse. The brother then alerted police.

In mitigation on Monday, the woman’s lawyer urged the court to distinguish the case from those involving parents and underage children, which she said involved a breach of trust. “This case is highly unusual,” she said.

Before the case was brought to the court, she added, the woman once tried to tell the prosecutors to hold her fully responsible so that her father could walk free.

“That shows the extent of devotion and infatuation the defendant had for her father,” she said.

The lawyer asked the judge to take into account the devotion the daughter had for his father, while assuring that the chance of reoffending would be low.

“It serves no purpose to society to lock her up and punish her,” she argued, adding that what her client needed was help.

The court also heard the brother, who had since suffered from depression requiring medication, took the matter to police originally because he had no idea his sister consented to it.

The co-defendants await sentencing on June 12.

That's a bizarre story. I frankly blame more the cuck Beta brother for outing them.

He should have talked with the father and daughter. It is not as if they had a relationship and had kids together.

It is hogwash to regard black "genes" as dominant, or white "genes" as recessive. This erroneous remark (or similar ones) has been made multiple times on this forum.

Skin color is polygenic, and the top alleles most associated with skin color appear to be more or less codominant (light alleles nor dark alleles are dominant over each other).

This should be obvious, since the skin color of F1 (first generation) hybrids between the F0 of un-admixed very dark-skinned black people and un-admixed very light-skinned white people come out very consistently brown, with little variance.

If dark-alleles were dominant, the F1 off-spring would come out very dark (e.g. very-dark-skinned parent homozygote dominant across the board) and/or with large variance in outcomes ("" heterozygote across the board)--but they don't, they come out consistently brown, like Obama.

It is only between two admixed parents that the F2 off-spring start to have substantial variance in skin color.

This has nothing do due with dominance, it has to do with re-sampling of gametes and the variance that results.

Let's pretend skin color is dictated by one-locus, with each allele codominant to each other. In our experiment we have 100 (or any arbitrary large number) parents WW for white-skin and the other 100 parents BB for black skin, and mating pairs are all one WW and the other BB.

F1 generation will thus be all BW, and 100% of them will be brown.
Now let's do this experiment again with F1 for F2.

Now there will be 25% WWs, 50% BWs, and 25% BBs for 25% white-skin, 50% brown, and 25% black-skin.

If you add more hypothetical loci, the proportions change (and you'll need to add more shades, like Mocha, Beige, etc.) but the illustration is the same. F1-generation are all heterozygote and brown, and in F2, across-the-board homozygotes for dark-skin and white-skin can still be seen.

About five loci explain a substantial amount to most of the variation in skin color between blacks and whites.

This is why two brown people can occasionally have very light-skinned children or very dark-skinned children in countries like the Dominican Republic. Again, has nothing to do with dominance, but re-sampling of gametes.

In general, dominance effects are far overrated due to grade-school to undergraduate genetics focus on Punnett Squares and Mendel's green and yellow pea-pods or whatnot.

Additive effects are far more important, especially in complex traits, like in height and IQ.

Another important notion is that men tend to be darker than children and women in pigmentation, holding genotype(s) constant.
