This is confusing.

Went to an ophthalmologist for a check-up yesterday because my remaining eyesight is declining, and I received some bad news. Before I make a decision on how to proceed, I want to make sure this guys advice is legit. Are there any ophthalmologists or eye surgeons among the members here?

Get a local 2nd opinion.

Even if there are eye surgeons here, I doubt one can give any thoughts without examining you and coming up with their own diagnosis.

Look for the best surgeon in the area, and if possible that specialize in that issue as well. If you hear the same thing from two surgeons you will know its legit. I wish you the best whatever you choose. Do it quickly though, some eye issues can get bad fast if you put them off for months, although it might not be what you have.

Even better, go to your opthalmologist, and ask for a copy of your medical file and a copy of any photographs because you want to go for a second opinion.

(If he refuses to give you a copy of your file, then lodge a complaint against him with the local medical registration board, that he is denying your right to a second opinion by withholding critical information regarding your diagnosis.)

You can then go with that to a second doctor locally or consult a doctor internationally by arranging to email the file and pictures to him.

There was brief conversation about some podcast about an interesting guy in small town America, then it was mentioned the guy is a closet gay. My boss's response "not the best place" jokingly referring to how tough it would be for a gay, or closet gay, in small town hickville America.

That's how he sees small town America. I grew up there. I grew up with friends having Confederate flags in their trucks, where we had a drive your tractor to work day senior year. There were a few gay kids in my school. They were treated just fine.

Then he makes a joke about a show where some guy has a spit container next to his bed, like this is so hickish or throw back...I told him, I have friends who chew. My other boss said, "yeah, it was huge when I was in college, doesn't surprise me".

In 1 minute my boss completely exemplified these lib-tards. They think small town America is homophobic, bigoted, sexist, stupid, dumb, horrible people.

Lemme tell you guys....there ain't nothin' better than a homemade lasagna. I'm talking a good, chunky bolognese, a creamy bechamel and some parmesan and mozzarella on top. It's a looooong process, overall it took me about 5 hours total, but goddamn does it taste amazing.
