In fact, many Nigerians go to Ghana for a five day vacation to unwind and relax.

Regarding the Nigerian movies, I have a whole bag full of them. One guy left a whole bunch with me before he moved back to Nigeria. I hardly watch them but sometimes if there is a lizard over that has an interest in Africa, I break out a few to warm her up.

Interesting what you say about Nigerians being very religious. I have a long time Nigerian squeeze who loves to fuck and an occasional married f-buddy and they both have Facebook pages going on and on about religion. I was always puzzled about the disconnect. Now I see where it all fits in. Hell, I’d be praying every day. I grew up in the Bronx and I thought that was tough! This is another level altogether.

I wouldn't suggest that ANYONE (white, black, latin, chinese) without local connections go there for a few days. I saw nothing there that was tourist friendly.
Whites are usually seen as with money so you may be setting yourself up for a kidnapping if you go solo.
Even I had to be evasive about my arrival (they think everyone from overseas has orchards with money for leaves) to avoid my big azz being kidnapped as well.

Anyone who tells you different is either a local thus unable to see Nigeria from an outsider's eyes.

But the way Nigerians spread about the planet, I'm sure you can find one to befriend no matter WHERE in the world you are.

Once befriended, you can arrange to go down with him.

However, I did see a white guy in one mall in Lagos. I even took a picture of him to prove that whites do go there. I saw an Asian guy on an okada as well and one other white guy in a kekenapepe.
But these cats may have been fully seasoned as fcuk.
If as a white guy, you insist on going solo, get a priest outfit and say you work for a church. Play off the high religious factor there. You'll probably get a pass that way on the madness that a regular tourist may experience

Hey now one with no connects can still go to Nija and have a good time. You just have to pay out the ass and have a shielded protected experience. Victoria Island is where many European Bussniess travelers stay, they pay up for protected accommodation and (armed) drivers. You can live like a diplomat or head of state for a weak if you got a little bit of coin.

Nightlife is poppin tho, my homie ran back to Lagos after school.. he couldn't fuck with Canada any more and got sick of white women! I try and post some pics from his FB of the nightlife.

Fantastic report Moma, you're a joker fam didn't even know you're Nigerian, Igbo boy for that matter! I feel you on alot of the things you're saying although you could have got more bangs if you stayed in Lagos longer and knew a local connect there. Thats where the Nigerian music industry is based and all the parties are at, you could seriously have a sick time there. I havent been back to Nigeria since 2001 and not in hurry to go back soon, I used to be that kid that could climb a tree and tap that palm wine but living in London for so long now mans been thoroughly westernised although I reckon I could still adapt after a while though. I remember when I first got to London,living in south (peckham) mandem used to try and test me cause they thought I was some skinny african kid lol, knocked out a few mans and they gave me respect! Growing up walking 3 miles in the morning and afternoon to school in the heat everyday with a diet of shaki, phanla, eba, amala, eyan looool they didnt know what hit them.

Sick report like I said, I swear there's no where you cant find Nigerians its crazy, even on a niche forum like this with mostly a white male audience there's still Nigerians about

I was thinking about stopping in Nigeria later this year on my way to Ghana. However, reading you report I guess I'll leave my custom suit and gators at home. Quick question cuz. Did you experience Lagos nightlife at high end spots at all? Do you think that actually having contacts and staying with them was a handicap and you would have been better off staying at one of the upscale hotels around town?

Playa, Nigeria is a strange place because you see guys dressed very well. If you are black, there is no way for them to know that you are a foreigner but they can probably tell from the way you walk and you will probably gawk in surprise at a sudden explosion of mayhem whereas an average Nigerian will take it in general stride (although they will also gawk but just in a different way).

I initially went to Pearson rocking a black Fedora, a gray waistcoat, white shirt, gray tie, black trousers, black socks and shoes.
But on the connect flight to Lagos from Paris as I saw Nigerians watching me, I quickly took off the Fedora and released the tie.

I didn't want to come in smelling like new money and looking like a target.

I think you can definitely rock the gators that you want but if you are coming into Lagos, you may want to reduce your volume so that you are less of a target. You should be fine but you may just result in paying more than you should for general stuff.

I experienced ZERO nightlife in Lagos for two reasons.

Firstly, the guy I was staying with is all about his business and his family. I don't know if he was ever into clubbing and slaying lizards but right now, he most definitely isn't.

Secondly but most importantly, because of the Christmas period, everything had died down somewhat, in terms of social circle and everyone had travelled home to their respective villages.
There was a guy who had promised to take me out but due to the time constraints and the fact that I spent the lion's share of my stay in Enugu meant that it would have to be on my next time.

Definitely, staying in a hotel would have given me better access and less restraints.
Ultimately, if I hooked up with like minded family members as well as removed the logistics and time restraints, I would have been balls deep for my entire stay.
I don't mind though. I got a LOT OF LOVE there.

On my next trip, I should be caning the reptilian populus. As a foreigner, my DHV is insurmountable (as would yours). Getting women isn't even a concern for me out there.


You should definitely check it out, playa but just approach it like you would any other third world country (watch your back).
The women are black fine. Good strong, yet feminine bodies and they definitely got style. You won't get that snaking neck, finger snapping bullshyt you get in the U.S.

I got my eye on this village one there but she's only 19 (I hear). I was thinking about the type of athletes I could produce with her. Sha, I'll let her finish her schooling first *chuckles*.

In terms of your gators and custom suit in the nightlife, remember that Naija has some MAJOR ballers. You can literally jump to millionaire overnight. The country is sitting on cash. That means you probably won't stand out in a bad way (as a mark).

However, the fact that you are a foreigner is custom suit and gator in its own right.
You could probably roll in the club with a ripped singlet (wife beater) and as soon as they hear your Yankee accent (I think you are American, yes? ), you'll be off back to your shack with a hot lizard dime.

There is a lot of love there, in its own way.

People have the misconception that everybody in Africa is eating out a wood bowl while flies are all over your face. A lot of them do live like that but there are a sizable number of Africans who have Prince Akeem money(Eddie Murphy character in "Coming to America") That's why I was curious if you actually made it to one of those spots and got to order bottle service. I am glad you had fun and that Nigerian dudes were cool like cucumbers. I didn't find South African and Namibian Blacks to be friendly at all. In fact, I think being a Black American might be a DLV to them. This is in contrast to pretty much everywhere else I have been to where the native/local Blacks are very friendly and happy to see you not in a fake ass kissing "I am only doing this for your money" way but legitimately happy to see a Black American.

Playa - I think as an American you will do fine and be received well over there. In fact, DON'T be surprised to find cats there balling on Lebron James type levels there.

Again, I can't speak from a tourist perspective as I have never done it from a tourist aspect there and as I said, it didn't seem tourist friendly to me(at least not from Lagos airport during Christmas).

However, other cats i.e. Kosko might be better to set you straight better coming off of a tourist angle.

It's good to tone down the flash in general until you are going out clubbing or you may find yourself being hit up for 'unknown' taxes by various members of the public and private sector.

I always tone down my flash when I hit up ANY third world country whether they black, white, yellow, pink or purple. Never underestimate the hunger of a cat that doesn't have shyt.

Personally, people didn't openly sweat me for 'do me Christmas'.

I gave one cat a few G's (Naira) and this cat was very reluctant to take it. Cats got mad pride there.

All in all, I WILL be going back. I was just taken aback initially due to it being my first time in a long time and the fact that I have been mollycuddled in Canada for so long, all that rough in your face shyt had me gazing like I was starstruck.

I'd like to do Ghana, Kenya and Angola too. Those spots harvest lizards with the bodytype that I enjoy to really punish.

That's some of the most banal cookie-cutter architecture I've ever seen. Makes Phoenix look like Paris. And it's too bad to see that they are trying to imitate European architectural styles in some of the nicer homes. There actually is a traditional West African architectural style that looks pretty cool, it's too bad they don't use that as inspiration instead of that ugly faux-Italianate crap. The first pic is an African-styled mansion that is pretty nice. The last two show the architectural influences from traditional W. African adobe buildings.

Since I grew up in Lagos and spent 7 years living there before moving back to the US, I can expand on a lot of things you wrote and give a lot of perspective.

The major problem with Nigeria is that the nation is smaller than the state of Texas, but yet contains more than half of the American population. Nigeria is extremely congested, so because of that you have to deal with people. There is very little privacy in Nigeria, that's why the women are so conservative. Religion plays very little role in sexuality when dealing with most 3rd world people, if it did they'd be awful dancers. However, most African chicks value secrecy. They love being able to do things that no one knows about, and if you can get an African chick into that mindset, you'll be able to do things in the bedroom with her that you could never do with an American woman...it is quite exhausting though.

Lagos is probably the most overpopulated city in the world. It's filled with poor people, and if you're rich enough, you'd rather just rent a helicopter and fly over all the masses, which a lot of people do. Most people who get rich in Nigeria, get rich through connections or through the Army. If you know someone who is already in the system, you can definitely make more money there than you can make in America. However, fraud is common in Nigeria and even the people who you do business with will try to squander you out of your money, if they don't feel like they are being sponsored enough.

Nigerians love to party and they love heat, that's why so many of them live in Texas, it's the closest thing they can get to back home. If you are with a Nigerian girl, and she's under the age of 22, take her to a dancehall reggae club after you've pregamed her on some drinks; keep the drinks soft and sweet. You should get laid, or get blue balls after she grinds the hell out of you for an hour or so in the club. All Africans like to sweat when they're having fun, they don't like bars, the older ones like lounges where they can chill, but if any African chick suggests you should go to a lounge with her, she's basically saying that she's gonna make you work hard before you bang her.

Nigerians tend to be the most proud or arrogant group of Africans that you will meet, it's why they're called the "Americans of Africa." In Africa, they will treat white people with a lot of respect, but in America, they have absolutely no respect for anybody. Most Nigerian parents have no PC in them whatsoever, and if you aren't on your game when they meet you with one of their kids, they will literally have a swell time torturing you. The one thing all Nigerians get better with, when it comes to age is at insulting people.

For the most part, Nigerians are very cool and they like hi-energy environments. The one thing that will cause problems with them though is passive aggression or phoniness. Most Africans are not subtle, if they want something, they say it, now some are louder and more boisterous than others, but for the most part, Africans are very wary of fraudsters, and they associate passive aggression and phoniness as fraud (i.e. most suburban kids, hipsters and overly liberal activist.) In fact, if you're a racist and you're open about your dislike towards black people, you're more likely to have better relationship with Africans than the liberals who claim to love them so much.

Great post Moma! I came to check this thread after a friend of mine from Nigeria raved about it and invited me over there. He lives in Chicago and goes back often and told me he has family that would show me a good time. After reading this thread it got me interested in giving it a shot. I do admit that I'm a little uneasy about going through with it as I'm a Latino dude (Mexican-American) and do not know how I will be received there, at the same time I'm intrigued about the opportunity of smashing big bubble butt African girls. But definitely it sounds like an adventure to take. Great post.
