Tried the soda and hydrogen peroxide, didnt work for me. I think my problem is that I have thin enamel and the yellow dentin shows. Any suggestions for thin enamel? Drinking milk? Trays?

How many of you are coffee drinkers? About a year ago I started a new habit of drinking a glass of water after I finished my coffee, making sure to really swish the water around. The difference has been subtle and taken a while to notice, but my dentist and ortho commented that my teeth were really white and whitening would be unnecessary.

If one has thin enamel, will drinking milk make teeth whiter, by building the enamel?

I recently got two cosmetic crowns done in the Phils for about 1/6 the cost a USA dentist would charge. (175 vs. 1100 ea)

The dentist said that my enamel was thin and whitening wouldn't have worked that well.

Also, if you drink coffee etc you may stain the teeth again whereas with crowns you are better off.

I was a little scared, the level of sanitation was not as precise as a USA dentist ( there were some accumulated grime on the table instruments were placed but the dentist was quite competent and definitely was expert at the process of grinding down teeth and fitting the crowns.

Was going to get my teeth whitened but reading all this stuff about it hurting isn't promising. It can't be good for the enamel if thats the case. Do the dentists address this?

Laser teeth whitening like 'Zoom' does not erode enamel. You can Google it and research it yourself. But using shit like baking soda or those use-at-home strips will erode enamel.

The pain is just temporary and it shouldn't hurt for more than a day or two (if that). Some are just more sensitive than others.

What about the home whitening gels that you use with retainers?

E.g. Opalscene 35%?

Swish every other night with "food grade" hydrogen peroxide before bed. Most health stores and whole foods carry them.

I usually dilute with a little water. It seems to work good.
