I'll agree that the public service announcement at the end was a bit much, considering Snooki's behavior leading up to it. At the same time, the guy lost his job because of it. Based on that, regardless of her behavior, it wasn't worth it. He has a record of beating women, even though that may have been the only time he's ever raised a hand to one. In the age of instant celebrity, Snooki's fame grows, as does her bank account, while this guy will have that on his record for years, if not forever. I totally understood WHY he popped her, but the cost was too great.

The worst part of all this is that we're exporting this behavior abroad. I was clubbing in Spain a couple of years ago when a couple of dolled-up drunk gringas tried to shove their way past me to the bar. I stood firm and the taller one spilled some of her drink on the ground. This silly chick demanded I buy her another (like 15 euros at this place), and when I told her to screw off she threw the damn thing in my face. I just laughed it off and went on my way. That shit bothered me though, and I still wonder if I shouldn't have done something. If it had been a guy punches would have been thrown and bouncers would have been tossing people out. A chick does it and nobody even bats an eye.

But a guy in her situation wouldn't have either. Regardless of his size. I don't think sucker punching someone like that after a brief exchange of words is appropriate, or advisable.

But if Snooki had a penis, no one would've cared. The coach would've gotten a slap on the wrist, if anything. Chicks would've laughed and said, haha, got what you deserve.

If their behavior is any guide, women are truly amoral. They respond to power. If you wrong her while she remains in awe of your power, she will forgive you. Maybe evolution is the answer - in the ancestral environment, a woman might still bear offspring by submitting herself to her male captors. A male prisoner, worthless. If left to his own devices, he will just be a threat and attempt revenge. Better to kill him.

I think part of the appeal of white knighting is man's inherent desire to enforce justice. We love stories where the bad guy gets punished. But we don't really get any opportunities to do that, to personally mete out justice to the villain. Even policemen spend most of their time handing out bullshit tickets. So when they see a woman getting less than nicely, it's like a light shining down from heaven, and God is personally asking him to fight the forces of evil.

And that light is blinding. If he weren't so deluded, he'd see that the chick is the villain in this equation, much of the time. Even when she isn't the clear aggressor, she's often already effectively consented to it by default, by deliberately screwing an abusive man, over and over. Aka, shit attracts pigs. Hell, he could even be a not such a bad guy, but he acts abusive to attract and keep her.

Like Mixx said, guys feel like every girl would sleep with him, "if only she knew how good I am." Finally, God has given him the opportunity to prove himself. And not only is one side evil, but the other is obviously disadvantaged by size and strength. To not come to her aid would be the grossest injustice.

I hate white knighting. And especially because it doesn't even work. I'd still hate it if it did, but because it doesn't, it's like, "It doesn't even work! Why are you doing this?" Playing devil's advocate in a situation like this is much more effective than coming to her side. If only because there will already be so many men at her proverbial side. Agreeableness isn't arousing, especially for a masculine chick.

I agree with what basilransom has to say, I definitely don't think Snooki deserved to get punched in the face, nor would anyone in her situation.

Was she acting like a major bitch? Yes. Should she have been putting her hand in the guys' face? No.

But, that in itself doesn't deserve to be met with violence, if she had slapped him, then I think it would have been a different story, because she would have unjustly initiated violence, and he would have been within his rights (in my mind) for retaliating.

However, what I think he should have done was throw back that shot, tell her to suck a dick, and walk away. If anyone white knighted in that situation and tried to fight the guy, they would be at risk of getting charged with assault as it was all caught on tape. I think it would take a bigger man, to swallow his pride for a second, control is emotions, and realize the more mature thing to do, is say fuck it and walk away.

I had an ex try to get physical with me. I let a few pushes and punches slide and told her no more.

She decided to try it again and ended up getting an open handed smack upside her head. There was enough force in it to make her realize she wouldn't be touching me again like she was.

Luckily it was in private.

I felt pretty bad because I was taught to not hit a woman. Now, not so bad and understand she deserved it. That was really the only time I had a woman try to put her hands on me.

Just saw the vid, several times. I am not pro-hitting women.

She deserved to get put in her place. But maybe not a punch so hard, but what's the guy gonna do if he's tired & stressed from work etc & DRUNK with shots. He's not really gonna think what to do, but just lash out (unfortunately, not in full control).

But she got what she gave out. She GOT in his face, entire time he kept ignoring her and going to his drinks and to his boys. She KEPT getting into his face verbally & with her hands. He verbally, told her and even ignored her many times.

She stepped into THEIR groups space and kept leaning into and shoved her nails in front of him and one time probably even touched him (2nd time).

I think the guy would've moved away from her had he not been holding his place at the bar to get his shots & give to his friends. (Mentally & physically he's locked to the location & paid for drinks).

Ideally, he would've moved away, or maybe a slap on the face. But, his positioning with his friend there was such that he could not SWING his arm, so the only way to get her out of his face, was a "straight to her" MOVE. It just ended up being a punch given HOW MUCH crap she gave him to fill up his ANGER bucket.

GENERAL:

Leaving "over witchy" girls like Snooki out. Sadly, a lot of the save woman "programming" comes from the fact that women have been mistreated for 100s of 1000s of years in almost all cultures. Even today tons of women go through hell in the 3rd world. That's why there are NGOs to save women & girl child etc.

This is good, because these women deserve to be treated better. The are ENTITLED to be treated like equal humans. This is the cause of the programming.

But, men caused it for centuries and now there's some kind of a sense of payback.

I've noticed this as well; an explosion of obnoxious "grrrrrl power" manifesting itself as rudeness, baseless arrogance, and needless verbal and physical confrontation.

This generation has been saturated in media that depicts women as a not only mentally superior to but also a physical match, or superior to, men over the last 15 years. The result- the average woman sees herself as superior to the average man- and anyone familiar with the concept of hypergamy knows that a woman does not respect or defer to that which she sees as inferior to herself. Its not a suprise that we're seeing an increase in obnoxiousness and physical controntation; its simply the fruition of the gynocratic (women rule!) memes that were planted, and nourished, by the media over the last 15 years.
