Houston, I wear a bright red rosary necklace when I pair a fitted white v-neck with red jeans.

I'm surprised at the like beanies are getting here. I never really thought of beanies as being cool but I guess it depends in part where you are located as trend differ.

Check GQ and look at what good looking celebs where that should tell you whats in. Dark jeans and dark shirts are safe bets as they won't go out of style. I like to show some colour a bit more than other people.

For those of you guys who are short, I'm going to throw a suggestion way out of left field. Go buy some high quality cowboy boots which will certainly run you atleast 225 dollars. But remember people only see the bottom part as you put them under your jeans / dress pants. Its an easy way to gain 3 inches in height while being conspicuous. That should help some of you guys who are height crazy get to within your acceptable range. Warning: I wouldn't recommend going ballroom / latin dancing in these. I'm not really sure how to upload pictures to threads or I would.

That site F. Nebuloni site that Mixx posted which houston quoted is money... in warm climates. Those of you guys who live in warm areas may want to check that site out, lots of cool styles that have true swag value.

I have several different styles that I roll with, generally in different situations, though there is some overlap:

1) Casual style:

- A t-shirt (I generally prefer monochromatic tees or band tees, but either way, I don't like shirts with crazy graphics).
- Any watch.
- Jeans (I wear black, blue and grey) or trousers.
- Argyle or patterned socks (I only wear white when I work out or play sports).
- Runners, loafers or workboots.
- Aviators.
- A belt that matches the shoes.

Worn when: Hanging out at my crib, out in the day-to-day life, seeing friends, going to a girl's place, going to eat or grab drinks at a lower-end place. The obvious emphasis here is comfort and convenience, but at the same time, I'm not too sloppy to make appearances.

2) Suited-Down:

- A three-button two-piece suit (grey, navy and black)
- Dress shirt in either an interesting color (lavender, blood-red, midnight blue etc,.) or a flat-white shirt with french cuffs (french cuffs for style points).
- A tie with a color that compliments the color of the shirt (for flat-white shirts, I roll with a bold but not obnoxious color like dark grey, light blue or purple). I rarely wear shirts blown open or go suited sans tie (also note; I don't really like skinny ties because I am very tall and even when I was pushing on 200, I have a very slender build).
- Classic analog watch.
- Loafers or lace-ups (black, white or brown).
- Argyles.
- Aviators.
- Belt that matches the shoes.

Worn when: A little more prestige is required (weddings, formals, job-interviews, drinks and meals at more upmarket places). The emphasis is on style and class. When I have enough suits that I can afford to roll out without worrying if they get scuffed a little, I will be upping my suit game in both frequency and quality, because the GManifesto is definitely on point with what he's always saying; wearing a nice suit out to an appropriate place significantly ups your magnetism with women.

3) 'Edgy Prep':

Note: I usually rock this look, for extra contrast, with a few days of 5:00 shadow or a beard.

- A wool sweater (I generally prefer monochromatic dark-blue, black, grey or dark green here, though I do have a few stripes and argyles in the roster).
- A collared shirt (worn under the sweater with the collar and cuffs poking out.
- Analog watch.
- Workboots, loafers or dress shoes.
- Trousers or jeans (black or grey only).
- Argyles.
- Belt that matches the shoes.

Worn when: This look is crazy versatile; you can wear it to the club, you can wear it to visit family, you can wear it going to the library, you can wear it on dates and you can wear it around the house. The emphasis is on versatility and contrast, in that you can safely wear it most places without being over (or under) dressed, and it throws up a very good 'smoke screen' if you, like me, happen to be a vicious and icy-veined motherfucker underneath a squeaky-clean exterior. If you have good contrast in your appearance (for instance, if you have fair skin and dark hair, or darker skin and light eyes), you can get a lot of mileage out of this look, calibrate colors accordingly.

4) Badboy:

- A flat-color tee.
- A leather jacket.
- A flashy-but-not-ostentatious watch.
- Aviators.
- Semi-tight jeans.
- Boots.
- Argyles.
- Matching belt.

Worn when: I know that there are going to be a lot of 18-24 year old girls in the vicinity, on dates. The emphasis here is on badditude, for clear and obvious reasons.

5) Hipster without being hipster:

- A corduroy or polyester coat.
- Band tee.
- Intriguing jewelery.
- Unique watch.
- Semi-tight jeans.
- Runners.
- Argyles.

Worn when: Sparsely; mostly when in a divey bar, seeing some live music or trying to angle on a hipster girl. I place emphasis here on blending and versatility, as we all know you can't get away with a suit or more upclass look everywhere, and this one, while not being fully and obnoxiously hipsterish (I own not a single trucker hat, flannel shirt, pair of chucks or pair of skinny jeans), is enough to let you fly under their radar long enough to run pipe to the hot hipster girls you can run across in battle.

6) Winter style:

- Pea coat / floor-length black coat.
- Any of the 'top' elements from Edgy Prep.
- Trousers.
- Boots.
- Argyles.
- Belt to match.
- Whichever watch is most appropriate.

Worn when: It's going to dip below 5 degrees, and all about keeping warm while maintaining a basic sense of style; snow on the ground is no excuse to look like shit.

The game changed when i moved to a city where the temperatures from October to April range from -10 to -30 Celsius and the streets are consistently covered in ice. I'm finding that parkas are not very popular in the style community, but necessary here.

For those with a weak, or those that are new to the wardrobe game my advise would be to subscribe to sites like the Sartorial (and there are hundreds more out there dedicated to men's fashion) and TAKE TIME to look around and study what you like the look of. What is it about what you like? What are the cuts like? what kind of colour palettes are you liking? What are the background settings for the garments being modelled? and how applicable are they for your hunting grounds? (pointless going for the beach bum suave when your in drinking in Oslo!)

You're looking to develop a STRONG sense of what you like, what suits you best with a knowledge of how to mix textures and colours. If you can gain knowledge of basic sartorial rules, soon you know how to break them and most importantly how to make the look yours!

The benefit of this method is you'll be less drawn to big, expensive designer names and being dictated to by the sales person on commission or slavishly following someone else's unique style tips on a forum. You'll focussed on looking for particular pieces to fit gaps in YOUR puzzle. It also means you can shop in thrift/second hand stores and TJ Maxx due to knowing exactly what you're looking for and comfortable with.

What are people's thoughts on wearing a hoodie underneath a sport coat or blazer? I'm not totally sold on the look, but I must admit I've seen it work on some occasions. Might just say fuck it and go with it a couple times and see what sort of reactions I get:.

I have done it in the past. The hoody though, is an extra fine merino wool and very thin, therefor it does not add any extra bulk to the look of the blazer.

Also, the blazer was black cotton velvet and the hoody was also black. I thought it looked dope.

Nonpareil - sorry my man but everything you have posted I would not wear at all. If you are getting love wearing that stuff then all the power to you. Timberland boots are played out, I like old rock band t-shirts but that Zeppelin one is too busy and the leather jacket simply looks cheap as well as some of the other items.

I see alot of FOB's wearing those shoes, I believe aldoshoes.com sells them as well. Aldo shoes are generally disposable fashion shoes that last one or two seasons the most, why would you waste your money on them. I do however like a line of shoes they do carry, that is the Mr B's range which tends to be better made shoes with leather soles. I paid $150 for a nice cognac brogue with a thick sole, funny enough I don't see anyone wearing them.

To all the young cats out there, save your money and buy decent footwear. Women notice your shoes and can tell alot about you by them.

It's tricky- make sure the jacket isn't too smart and a casual lean and as other(s) have mentioned the hoodie isn't too thick. The colour scheme/patterns you use will make or break your look.

The flash of pink on the hood fastener will do good things to a dark colour ensemble. Also the hood/body are a thin wind breaker nylon material whilst the arms (and side panels) are figure hugging merino wool so no bulk issues. I know they're making new colours for next season, too.

I'm usually dressed for work, so that limits my options on most days.

When I travel to and from a business casual client, I usually wear a suit without a tie.

   

You have to rock the pocket square. Of course, for business formal clients I just wear one of my custom suits with a tie. I have a pretty nice tie collection of both conservative and more fashionable ties.

During the workweek, I try to keep it stylish, even though I'm forced to dress in business casual. I often wear a vest on cold days.

   

This guy is wearing the vest with jeans, and that's something I might do on the weekend, but during the weak I have on dress pants.

On weekends, you can often find me wearing a nice v-neck with jeans. I have a broad chest and shoulders with a thick neck, so this look works well for me.

   

I'm also a fan of the jeans with blazer look. I wear this a lot, and get compliments on it, but most men can't pull this off and shouldn't try.

I like to describe my "going out" or "night on the town" attire as classic upscale elegant.

Given that I frequent high end venues and the hottest clubs, it's a pre-requisite to be presentable and clean. Slobs and posers don't even make it passed the ropes. I go either custom suited down or traditional with a rock influence. I like the masculine rocker vibe that John Varvatos represents in his collection. Varvatos is high end casual traditional wear for men. Since it's colder out, I'm dressing differently: looped scarf, loose knitted cardigan underneath a herringbone vest, grey micro pin striped pants, muted colored suspenders worn undone, calf leather ankle boots, and a few beaded bracelets.

The details on the suit matter to me. I like to have an attractive contrasting lining with functional pockets for my cigars, lighter, pen, and iphone.

Depending what city and climate you are in will help dictate which material to wear. If I'm in Miami or tropical type climates: linen blends or cotton or cashmere. Everywhere else high quality wool will do just fine.

I like slim fit cut suits with thin lapels and a crisp clean fitted shirt underneath with loafers or pointed oxfords. During warmer nights/days I rock it sockless. Always with pocket square and a nice watch. Usually I enjoy my Swiss watch but I picked up a vintage German mechanical watch that I'm enjoying currently with a lot of history behind it.

Shoes are very important. I must say Gucci loafers are a great investment. First weekend I wore them I ended up in two vaginas back to back. I always get compliments on my gold horse bit suede Gucci's. Straight G. Pebble Leather Ferragamos are more to add to the arsenal. Places like Vegas and LA, I end up walking a lot so to have comfortable and beautiful shoes are ideal. In Latin American countries, locals told me they look at your shoes to see what kind of status you have. The cleaner and more expensive shoe, the more the status... I thought this was pretty much everywhere though. I wore my leather Gucci's and had women coming up to me with that glimmer in their eyes.
