not since I was a kid, but you're gonna spend ~2-5000 for braces, and you're looking @ 18-24 months.

If you live in the US, definitely worth it in terms of how you feel about yourself and your effect on others.

A friend of my family told me she paid for her sons braces at DR and it cost her only $900. I'm thinking of going there and doing it myself. I live close (Puerto Rico) and here braces and that stuff is about $4,000.

Putting on the braces is relatively cheap, but you have to get them adjusted every few months.

And then you have to wear a retainer for 6-12 months so they don't jumble back.

So it's the visits that add up to the big money.

I'm getting mine in a few weeks. The doc says two years tops, but that whole invisalign business is for mild cases only.
I'm guessing I won't be getting any pussy for a while, so I'll try to pull a Kanye and learn to talk without showing my teeth

I had lingual braces a few years ago, it's probably the most expensive option out there but nobody will know that you're wearing them.

Another cheap spot is Colombia, I saw lots of older people wearing braces when I was out there.

RE: getting your teeth fixed
I had braces for years when I was young. I had them 2 times for a total of probably 6 years. Doing it when I was young was totally worth it, I'm glad I did so now I have straight teeth. But I can see it putting a big damper on your game if your older. But you know what, if your teeth are that bad, it may be worth it. Deal with the 3 or 4 years of braces and have nice teeth the rest of your life. But if your teeth aren't that bad and it still bothers you, I'd suggest invisalign or something like that.

The clear braces can be a pain in the ass, I looked into them. First of all I think they are more expensive, but the worst part is you can't eat many things with them including tomato sauce. I love itallian food, I just couldn't do it.
