Was there January / February time, hostel was packed out and fully booked as was Wild Rover. Was difficult to extend your stay any further than your original booking and turning up without a booking generally meant no bed. Why are you so sure they weren't fucking? Two horny, drunken and drugged up, backpackers are getting into bed and just kissing and cuddling but not fucking...why would this happen? Random hookups were happening all the time. I'm far from a being good looking guy, I know next to nothing about game or seduction and even I fucked in the dorms twice in La Paz.

I can only comment on my experiences and maybe it was very different when you were there but I 100% stand by the fact that there was tons of fucking going on in the party hostels of South America when I was there.

Yeah the weather was unexpectedly great as it hardly ever rained. In November / December in Brazil it rained all the time, storms every couple days, Argentina completely dry then the odd spell of rain in Chile, Peru & Bolivia but nothing crazy and not like I had expected. It didn't ever affect any of my plans, no buses cancelled, no roads washed away, no trips or activities postponed.

Anybody know about it's origins..it must cost a fortune to run that and so many reporters travelling over the world.

How does it finance..advertising was the only thing I could see.

Vice has been around forever now. Started in Montreal as a magazine by Shane Smith (cool guy) and a pakistani friend if I'm correct. I've been following Vice since the beginning....it's still cool, but it's become mainstream now. MTV has been airing Vice programming (nothing fringe of course).

Besides selling content, yes, advertising seems to be the other main stream of revenue. Those guys have come along way and definitely have money behind them now. There head quartered in New York now as well.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Real traveling (not a beach holiday) is mainly finding a place to sleep and having 3 meals a day in your stomach. Everything else is business on the side. Not even starting on traveling on a budget when you can't afford the same things ( hotel rooms or a taxi in a expensive country) as people on a 3 week holiday.

Try to bang a new girl a few times a week and see how much drama you have to put up with from girls who like you and want more than one night.

I believe people are having sex, but it’s a lot less than what people want you to believe. Asking guys if they had sex tells you nothing. I have 4 good friends and only one tells the truth “all” the time. The other three create stories because they believe they are supposed to be banging tons of girls (PUA propaganda). Everyone of those girls in the Cuban documentary may serve jail time for that. The thing about Cuba is the vast majority have no knowledge of the power of the internet. I am in Anjuna at the moment, just getting a feel for the place. I will be here for another week. I have just checked out the bars up and down the beach so far. Right now there is an election coming up, so the cops are being dicks and shutting everything down at 11 PM. But, there are a surprising number of attractive Russian girls around.

I think Anjuna is a good place to stay. How much are you paying to stay there? A couple of the girls I went out with stayed there. I think that’s the most hippie beach but not the best beach. Get a motorbike or a Royal Enfield motorcycle and hit all the beaches up and down Goa all are different. Vagator is good, which is the next beach. Arambol and other northern beaches are big and nice. Check them all out. Hit the Hilltop night market which is a trance party in Vagator. Go to any of those markets, because they have lots of girls/women shopping. I went there with this E. European girl that I met and they were having a Capt. Morgan party too. Shiva Valley had trance parties. I went to another late night trance party at the most northern bar on Anjuna Beach. A year ago when I was there, the bars and parties stayed open all night. Nine Bar had almost all guys dancing w/ each other the night we went. Even though it sucked my friend and I met some good looking girls there that were trying to escape and we them on our motorbikes to a trance party, etc. Baga/Calangute Beach and town is very crowded with lots of Russians and Brits. Tito’s in Baga/Calangute Beach is one of the biggest and most famous bars. Disco inside and decks w/ bars outside. Good the night we were there. All the open bars along the roads in Baga Beach were mainly sausage fests. Each town has it’s own ambience. I found it much more difficult to drive home late at night than getting to the beaches. Wasn’t just the partying, I thought the roads were poorly marked.
