This seems like a really pessimistic outlook, insofar as you've taken a wide swath of behavioral compliments that a woman can give a man, including "you are such a gentleman," and turned them into put-downs. But my outlook is that if you don't give a fuck what the woman says then it doesn't matter whether she says these things or not.

As far as I'm concerned, it's ok to be nice as long as you are scarce and unpredictable, since people are intrigued by the things they can never pin down.

I got the "aren't you sweet one" today via text, but it was after I said something decidedly filthy, so I'll assume it was sarcasm.
