How big of a role does style and looks play in the opening phase?
Here's a quick back story... I tend to do well with brunette 7's and 8's, sometimes 9's. Generally I have the easiest time with the laid back, alternative/intelectual types, not hippie chicks, but chill personality wise.

The blond bombshell, not so much, even the bleach blonde girl who is not terribly stunning, but compensates with makeup and slutty dresses, I've had only one lay with this type. Mostly out of personal preference on my part, but I'm sure somewhat on their part too. Even in highschool, this has always been the case. When I go out at night, and even during the day, the IOI ratio of brunetes to blondes is probably 6/1.

So, the first two girls I elderly opened were moderately attractive bleach blondes, and both failed. The first girl, I asked how she liked her iphone, we chatted for a bit, I mentioned I was thinking about up grading my blackberry, but then she put her earphones got back into her work, convo ended. Not so bad.

The second girl came up and sat right across from me. I was pretty busy and wasn't really planning on talking to her, but I noticed she was reading something I had previously read, so I asked her how she liked it. We talked for a bit, and then she, like girl #1, disconnected the convo. Worse than that, 5 minutes later she got up and moved to another table...

Couldn't help but think I scared her away, but our conversations was really basic and I don't think I did anything that could be processed as hitting on her... I literally acted as though she was my grandmother and I was curious about what she was reading.

So I'm a bit discouraged on the first couple of trys. The question is, should I just stick to girls that I already have a histroy of attracting? How important is your style or looks to getting the initial conversation going, that is, if your not a girls type right off the bat will she not engage you at all over such mundane topics?

Thanks

2 samples is very little. I've had 2 day bangs the past 2 months but I think I opened at least 20 to 30 chicks... if not more, really not sure since I didn't keep count. Keep opening and you'll have a much better idea.

What's your ethnicity/background and where do you live?

In DC blondes were in shorter supply, with most of them concentration in the Georgetown area (i.e. more cliquish).
