I wrote out a longer post but I'm going to keep this simple as it was mostly a way to organize my thoughts and put them out there to get thoughts on what is really happening in the interactions of two people.

If you use the evolutionary psychology point of view of the triune brain model, with the three modules of the human brain reptilian (survival/sexual), mammalian (emotional) and the neocortex (logical/higher brain) when talking to girls you should be able to spot where they are currently at with their mindset and proceed to communicate with them in the best way possible. This is why I think the book Day Game, from my perspective anyway, is a fantastic resource.

Maybe this is less of a science and more of a theory, but it seems to all flow with my own thoughts and I think maybe all of this is intuitive for al ot but I am a man who is interested in what goes on behind the scenes in the mind and I know this helped me shape my current perspective when I go out...it's like being able to actively spot the body language of someone, you can throw them in categories immediately just by seeing how they stand and interact with the world:

Examples:

1. At night when you go out, when girls are all slutted up, dancing, drinking or even on the weekdays sitting at the bar alone bored or reading a book, most likely they are to be in their reptilian brain mode (sexual/human instinct) = much more forward game can apply as it's doubtful their survival instinct is in fleeing/fighting mode and more in the primal hook up mode.

2. During the day, with girls walking around, at the store, on the street, at the coffeeshop/bookstore, girls are much more likely to be in their higher brain, the neocortex, the logical...if you come to them from a reptilian brain (sexual/primal) mindset, they may not get what you are communicating or you will scare the cat away because they are in their higher brain and you are coming from the sexual, more direct form of communicating. Sometimes you'll run into girls that are into the sexual and so you drop down to that.

The emotional comes in as they attach value to you. Which progresses the more time you know her.

A more recent example from my own past I can think of is with my ex-girlfriend. There were times where she was in her reptilian brain and we could have hooked up, but I was in my emotional / higher brain because I wanted to work things out that I did not see what she was communicating. It's the same with girls on the streets.

The point is this, if you can start to spot where a girl is coming from with her communication and desires you can switch to that and work on bringing her where you want, and if she is already where you want and you're in say the logical part of you, then you switch down and become more direct/sexual.
