By law the doctors are not supposed to tell you what the sex is during the ultrasound. Used to be that you could go to Hong Kong and find that out or mail off a blood sample if you are sneaky and smart.

Now that one child policy is over, they are not really doing that as much anymore. In fact, there is a recent new campaign to push 3 kids now by the CCP. The doctors now also put pressure on anyone seeking an abortion to go home now.

It's amazing how things have changed.

China gender imbalances are off the charts. Like they have +30 millions more men than women.

So convenient to save face and to blame this on femism/financial burden/the Jews and aliens when your reproduction policy is utterly retarded. Of course, they can't just go out and tell everyone that or fix the problem overnight.

A healthy sexual market is all about balance. Even though Chinese women are not Western hambeasts, the fact that there's simply not enough of them can make it as shitty a dating culture as all the feminism in the world combined. Well, feminism is used to create gender imbalance anyway, albeit in a power structure way.

Also, this is usually only a problem with the poor or low middle class since they are the one affected most by the financial burden and have less options to seek spouses elsewhere. Especially since most of them are in countryside / small city where people have this backward mentality of prefering boys to girls. Most middle class Chinese men do just fine. Those who dont go over to Vietnam and pick up our leftover. Good thing we produce quite a lot of those back home

It's nowhere near the same magnitude in the West where an average man struggles to marry (and even then, I wonder if this is just a manosphere myth?)

^ Yup, all about ratio. The less traditional the society, the more sensitive (read: West) to even minor male>female imbalances.
