I'm asking this because a part of me still wants to believe in all those stories about UFO technology being retrieved after the Roswell crash and with the US Military trying to retroengineer it. But even if we discard those things as just folklore, there's another plausible scenario: the military has black budget funded projects that are way ahead of what we consider the state of art in science and technology. Allegedly all these projects have not been released to the public and they won't be until many years to come.
I don't know if this kind of secrecy is even legal under the guise of a matter of national security or it's been executed bypassing various laws and/or in spite of the democratic will of the country.
If someone really powerful wanted to disclose any of those things, would he be able to do it or would he be stopped and eliminated right away with no regular trial?
Formally speaking the POTUS is in charge of the US Military and looking at the high ranking personnel I see they are mostly white men of various ethnic backgrounds but I don't discern any clear pattern.

Well just look who holds their money.

You know how military should have weapons stockpiles for situations when production is stopped and war is prolonged right?

Well you know what else military must have for a prolonged fight - stockpiles of money! In case economy breaks down, military must have enough cash to finance it's own activities and pay salaries and necessities for some period of time.

If military has this money reserve for at least one year of it's continued operation then it's controlled by it's top officers with president as the first one, like it is officially stated.

If military on the other hand wait's for some bank to transfer funds into their accounts monthly like every other organization, then they are controlled by the usual suspects who hold the money.

But if someone really powerful like Jeff Bezos wanted to sell secret military technology to Russians or Chinese, would he be able to get away with it or would the Military kill him effortlessly and erase any trace of his existence?

And how much power does the POTUS have on the military?
Could Trump just open Area 51 to the public for tour visits through a presidential order to let people see what's going on there?
