Finishing up reading on Griftopia: A Story of Bankers, Politicians, and the Most Audacious Power Grab in American History - Matt Taibbi (Author)

This thread deserves a bump. Great thread!

PS- Funny enough, I am going through an insurance 10-year cycle audit by Delta-Dental. The adjuster review your charts, checks your office, makes sure you collect copayments and other silliness.

Dentistry really has changed, and not in a good way. Insurance companies are busy at the moment "slicing and dicing" medicine. When they finish ripping that to shreds and bleeding it dry, i fully expect dentistry and other fields to be next up.

RE: Are the wealthy to blame?
Ill drop one more story, as told to me by military contractor for NASA. Differences here between USA and China

Hes being driven through China in the newly built industrialized towns where military equipment sold to the USA is made. On the way there, there is a collpased free-way and a crowd of people gathering. His driver urges him not to look in that direction.

Military contractor asks him, whats going on?
Driver- well, contractor and government official who sold contract are being punished.
MC-????
Driver- Well the town had leased out this contract to Chinese construction company. Company evidently had sold off some of the cement appropriated for project at higher price and used inferior grade cement. This structure collapsed as a result, killing 15 or so people.
MC- hears two gunshots and cheering.
Driver- Yea, so the population demanded justice.

USA, financial crimes slap on the wrist. China has its own problems, but when people have to pay w/capital punishment, it really curtails this type of behavior.
