I am borderine neurotic who is damn too sensitive. Coming from lower beta background, I managed to get myself in order and upgrade. However, not only I still get wasted with tears when watching overdramatized movies like Braveheart or Green Mile, but I can shed a tear or two even when watching something emotionally intense like couple dancing a tango.

I never cried in a girl's presence, but I have to supress it from time to time. This need often catches me when things are going my way with the girl I like - I get overwhelmed with feelings. While this never spoiled my act, I get depressed due to having to hide this.

I have heard Italians and some other Mediterraneans are OK with crying, is this true? I mean is it OK for their alphas to cry, or is it a myth and its a soy boy thing even there?

Finally, whats your personal opinion - can you be alpha while not being stoic, or will such deed forever destroy whatever perception of you the girl had before?

Considering that seduction is an emotional process, I would say cry. The chica will feel more bonded to you when you uninhibit your emotions (healthy proper emotions). If she can’t respect and appreciate your honest emotions.... NEXT..... find another girl who can. What’s the joy in changing yourself just to “get” a girl... doesent that result in somewhat of a death of self??

Every single time I watched a movie with my Meditteranean girlfriend and for some reason had tears ( especially true story movies ) - she used to be super copius and begged me to make love to her. It was pure attraction for her that I could display my emotions.

I consider myself to be a person with a sensitive nature as well. Whenever I listen to things that can touch my soul, I feel tears coming up. I consider these tears of joy. If I were to answer your question, I would say no, but it also depends on how you view your own alpha image.

Honestly, the fact that you are asking this question says something about your alpha image. Do not think about it. Believe in your alpha image, even though you have a sensitive nature. Own it.

I think it's cultural. In Latin America, a very machismo dominated region, even when tough guys cry, it's forgivable.





There's something about men, when we see another man laying it all on the line and still coming up short that is very upsetting. I don't think it means you're a pussy. It just means you can relate to the experience.

If I see a girl cry--I hardly pay attention. I expect girls to cry for any or no reason at all.

If I see a man crying, I have to take a deeper look. Something just happened that pushed him out of his "societally approved" level of displaying emotions. It's usually something very sad.

I'll tell you another secret: most men in combat sports (obviously, really tough guys) cry after a defeat. Wrestlers are notorious for it. I'd say MMA fighters are the second most. Boxers are not immune to it, but they usually look a mess anyway and it's hard to tell if they are crying, until they give an interview.

It's one of those things... I know people who have seen their friends die in combat and they don't shed a tear, at the moment. Then later on, they burst into tears when recounting the incident. I don't think any woman looks upon this negatively. If they did, then like the other guy just said, that's not a person that needs to be in your life.

If your eyes tear up during a movie, well... So be it.

Just don't become overdramatic and don't try to hide it too much. If you can hide it and get away with it, go for it, but don't make a fool of yourself over it.

Very true. I didn't put the "you have a family" clause in my reply. A man can never cry in front of his family.

I saw my dad cry once in my entire life. It was when we were alone and my grandma (his mom) had just died and he was devastated.

Just seeing him lose his composure was unbearable. I'd never seen it before and never saw it again.

It's not a good idea to cry in front of your family. Do it in private.

I'm by nature a sensitive and kind of emotional person when it comes to arts, music and literature. I think it's fine to shed tears in solitude but as men those tears must be shed for rather important, deep, signficant and meaningful reasons. I would still avoid crying in front of women and people in general.

The only time crying is acceptable for a man in the presence of a woman is the death of a parent, close sibling (not the fuck up siblings though), or your child. You can tear up a bit if your faithful dog checks out, or the woman herself develops a terminal illness.

Leaving aside biological differences between men and women there is an element of acculturation. If you grow up in an environment where your tears are rewarded (e.g. you're a female or a mommy's boy) that behavior will be reinforced. However if you grow up in an environment where crying is seen as a sign of weakness by your peers and your elders you learn to toughen up and channel your frustrations in a stronger manlier way. That doesn't mean you can't appreciate the arts or a child's laughter. I grew up in the latter environment and I'm grateful for it.

Forget the alpha/beta paradigm it's one of the most incorrectly used terms in the manosphere. Put it out of your mind for now.

Over emoting shows weakness, is weakness*. Women as a whole despise weakness in men. Crying will make her way less attracted to you. This is all there is to it.

*when someone shows their emotions, those emotions can be exploited with very little exception. There are positive emotions and theit are negative and all the in betweens but the bottom line is they can all be used as leverage by a smart opponent. Without applying malevolence to it - women are trained since birth to be able to manipulate the flow of emotions to their gain, crying is the 1st signifier of weakness people get familiar with.

Don't cry in front of people for real with no exceptions. If you're gonna cry in front of someone it better be calculated

To answer your first question, in some cultures expressing emotion in general is seen as the norm. However when it comes to crying I wouldn't say that the Mediterranean is so much different than the rest of the world where crying is seen as a sign of weakness. Maybe a bit more acceptable but that's it.

As for the second question, it depends a lot on the context. The why, the where and when, the how. Willingness to emote is an attraction switch, supposedly. But you have to control yourself if you're a highly emotional person, you can't be getting all rainy face every time you see a three legged puppy. Let it out of your system in private.

I rarely cry and I consider keeping calm a virtue.

But if I was dating a girl who lost respect for me after seeing me cry, I would be happy to see her go.
