best method for the cold approach?
Hi all,

I am a newb, recently single (after a long-term relationship) trying to step up his game to the next level. I am currently living in Norway.

I came upon a case tonight that I need help with. So, I am with a friend in a bar/club, and I see two girls alone across the bar. We are making a little eye contact. There is not much going on girl wise in this bar, so these girls are basically it.

How can I make an approach in this situation? Mainly, my approaches are context related. That is, if a girl is close (in proximity) to me I play on a something like her bumping into me, or a witty comment to start the conversation.

In this case, I would be walking around the bar directly up to them to make a cold call. I couldn't think of what to say, and I thought it would be a low probability approach. So I didn't make a move.

Does anyone have some advice on the best approach in this situation?

Best,

swissbones

Yeah, it sucks to start gaming after breaking up a LTR. I've been there, and it wasn't easy. Good to know you are out there stepping up your skills.

Concerning your doubt: the options are endless.

But, if you are sure there is eye contact, there are a few I'd go with:

-just make a gesture with your finger suggesting she comes over to where you are.

-go there as soon as you exchanged looks and with the right vibe (fun/sarcastic) say: "Hey, did you see anything you like?" suggesting she was looking at you.

Really, there are many possibilities.

And by the way, for what I've personally seen, Norwegian girls are very pretty!

My 2 cents.

You see, all I know is ball, and good, and...

Are you using english? I found there you could be pretty blunt and it worked.

Please tell me they still don't dump ketchup on pizza there and what part of the country are you at?

There is no "best method", whatever works best for you.

I was once in pretty much the same situation in a big but very empty club - less 20 people in total, with 2 mates and a group of 3 girls sitting at table like 10 meters away (so no noticeable eye contact really). Think about it like that: in such a situation, the girls are probably as bored as you guys and if they went out to a bar/club and dressed up a bit, it is obviously because they are open to meet new people.

Anyway I opted for situational approach, here is what I did: I stood up and walked to their table, I paused there, smiled, said "hi" (at this point, given the situation, they should have seen you approaching so you do not need to capture their attention) "do you speak english?" (it was in East Europe so skip that part). They said "yes a little". I said "I am with my friends and it is the first time we come here. It looks quiet now. Does it get busier later?". I don't remember what they replied, but they were smiling and looked interested, so there was no point wasting time. I just plainly said "do you mind if we wait a bit with you?". The leading girl replied "no, but can we come to your table" (we were on sofas). Within 30 minutes we were k-closing them. OK it's EE, so quite easy.

In your city or when the girls are colder, you will have to do a bit more talking after the opening. Talk about you, introduce your friend and get the girls' names, maybe say you know a better, more fun place where you will be going later...
what matters is that you realize that you are actually doing those girls a favor by brightening their night up and giving them the opportunity to get to know you. I think if you get this frame of mind, it will show and what you say exactly matters less.

when it's start of the night and nothing really happening yet then i'd like to go in with "two girls at the bar alone? what's the catch?" or something situational/observational like "you look bored" "you look stiff" "you look like troublemakers.. what are you up to tonight?" etc even if they don't look like that.

At the very minimum go over after I contact and say 'Hey' and start a conversation from there. If she noticed you it's worth a shot....
