Interesting thing happened to me just now. Girl, maybe 6.5, opened me by sitting next to me on the metro then asking me within about 20 seconds whether I was coming from work. We started taking and I used some elder chat, although she was asking me personal questions. I think it was a little too interviewy and she could probably sense I was less than fully confident. Before she got off I asked for her number and she said no in a real nice way.

Got her to laugh a couple of times, but I did not escalate into any kind of sexual direction. Didn't seem appropriate. I think we talked for about 5 minutes. From metro center to union station for those who live in dc.

I cant help but feel that there was initial attraction but I did and/or said something to kill it. Getting told no kind of felt good, however, because I know I pushed things as far as I could.

I have no advice, just a comment.

That you feel good about getting the "no" because you know you pushed as far as you could is a great attitiude.

There's a small but powerful lesson in that.

Keep after it.

that is mad strange.

she opens you with out a direction question then says no when you ask for her number.

must just been one of those weird ppl that just like to talk to everyone they see.

You could've said "Why? Are you looking for a job?" and then tease her about her lack of any useful skills etc yada. If she opens I don't think you need too any elderly chat.

Also don't answer personal questions initially. Make her work for it.

Since you apparently did not commit any major fuck up, I think it could due to a thousand different reasons:

- she was only looking to chit-chat
- already has a bf
- your game wasn't on point
- she thought it would have been weird
- there were people around so she got conscious
- she has "rules" about not giving out numbers at certain places
- she suddenly thought of her dead dog which ruined her mood
.....

Don't pay so much attention to one chick. Just hit NEXT!

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, she could have been friendly, but now I always assume that if a girl talks to me (and she is attractive) I need to go for it. I probably should have used a bit more cocky humor and not allow myself to get interviewed, but I was caught off guard by the fact that she opened me and I realized that I had to turn on the game so to speak. Thus, it was not really smooth and natural. No harm no foul really.

This is definitely not good. Either she was likely just looking to talk to someone, or you didn't come off as interesting enough to hang out with again. Don't sweat it though, as you at least took things as far as you felt you could.
