Are you assuming that they are eating three square meals a day? You would be right that there would be more shits if they were eating regularly. However we are talking about bums here, they are lucky to get a regular meal a day. Given the amount of drugs/alcohol that bums are on, I doubt that they are spending their "hard earned" pan-handling money on unimportant things like food until they are really starving, than it is to a Golden Corral(Long story in how I know it as it involves me working at Wal-Mart) or some other all you can eat establishment if they can find it. What is basically two shits per week seem about right to me.

There's been a few articles about it (and one documentary) - but the short of it is this: You don't go hungry as a bum in the US. There's food everywhere. Soup kitchens, and plain old bins behind the grocery stores.

Shit around here most of the 'homeless' are fat gypsies.

+ drug addicted homeless - 1.5 shits per week
+ alcoholic homeless - 3.4 shits per week
+ non-addicted homeless - 5.1 shits per week
+ working poor homeless - 0.5 emergency shits per week in remote bushes

Let me clarify, I believe that you are right, anyone one in this country who needs food can find an organization to feed them. What I believe is that they are more worried about getting high rather than getting food, and thus they are not eating regularly. I am sure that the drugs(assuming not appetite inducing drugs) and alcohol play a role in their lack of appetite as well.
