I'm not suprised by this at all. The whole #metoo stuff hasn't made it's way to Asia and attitudes here towards women and making sexual advances are very different to the west.

A girl I'm seeing here is a junior accountant in a small firm and she has stopped wearing makeup or dresses that show much skin to work to lessen the attention she gets from senior partners and customers.

I've heard of stuff like this before. A lot of sloppy dudes go way too aggro while in China. Very unnecessary. A dude out here recently got doxxed for that and revealed to his foreign employer.

We obviously don't condone or support sexual assault in any form here. There are numerous threads where "bad game" has been called out. If you go for the kiss and she shuts you down clearly, definitively and permanently, you've committed the sins of reading the room wrong and having insufficient game to bag your quarry.

Suffice to say, if a man's first move is to go a full on French kiss without warning or grab her by the pussy, his game has a lot of room for growth.

That being said, bad game is a reality of male-female relations. I'm not going to advocate for a medieval approach to solving this problems, but it needs to be noted that Western countries in particular, have expended tremendous resources into reducing the consistency that women are the target of ambitious male behavior, especially from men that they deem beneath them. This has come at the cost of trampling heavily on the rights of all men.

It's just simplistic and stupid to expect the whole world to be like this. Places like China, that desperately need their men to be the tip of the spear in creating value for their economy, have no room for laws that strongly favour women. Even without that, as a non-local who probably does not speak the language, you're going to be in a more vulnerable position than you'd be somewhere more similar to home.

The simple fact is that you cannot have it two ways. If you want a society that values freedom women as a core feature, women are going to be exposed to men who either have bad game or absolutely no respect for women's rights. No amount of social progress or education is going to change that.

Reality is gritty. These women are facing a very natural reality that living in a first-world, Western nation has afforded them protection from at great cost to the men they live along side.

I agree, but you are never going to get liberals to see reality. They are absolutely convinced they can "teach boys not to rape".

The sad thing is that once they scare the crap out of a group of boys and make them afraid to even kiss a girl without 30 consent forms signed in triplicate... those boys turn them off. They then gravitate towards more "caveman" type men.

I will say this one thing about the topic at hand. Journalists are a scummy lot... and I would prefer they dont go anywhere near Asia.

Liberals believe in creating a society where women are free to make certain choices and free of any consequences that come from that, because how can a woman be truly free if she must be responsible for her own actions.

If you believe people should have complete freedom of action and that a person must face the consequences of those actions... then you by definition are a Libertarian on this position.

Conservatives believe people should be protected from stupid decisions by legalizing them, and that if someone does it anyway they should face consequences.

Maybe the guys have just got used to Asia where a girl that goes somewhere alone with you has already given irrevocable consent.
