I'm fine with a safety net as well but it should be just that. We give way too much money in welfare to people who could work but don't want to and to people who are in that situation due to the incentives they have to leech off the state (like single mothers).

The problem is that Obama care (based on Hillary care in the 1990s) is no real reform - just an effective increase of premiums for the middle class, so that the insane for-profit system gets expanded to the lower classes. I've known a few of them who fell into this category of being basic yet lucky encounter to get a decent paying role either by having rich parents or the right "diversity" program.
