I read a Psych study some time back that showed women with self esteem issues find effeminate looking men very attractive. It was a unique trait among women that rated their own appearance as low.

Young teen girls tend to struggle with self esteem. I think it's likely that as they age and gain self esteem they will be less interested in the more effeminate men. Perhaps they find highly masculine looking men to be intimidating?

As I've said, K-pop is just for export purposes. It's actually partly government-sponsored to get people (e.g. young people/your future) from other countries to like Korea and build Korea's influence that way since Korea can't be a big-time military power or anything like China or USA just due to the country's size. (Think about what USA did with MTV basically)

As for North Korea, it's hilarious watching people e.g. from America debate ad nauseum about North Korea this and that when no one in Korea gives a shit about North Korea lmao. Your leaders just want you to have something to occupy your little heads with to take your mind off the real issues. Nothing is going to happen (war, reunification, etc).

Yeah but whenever girls I know saw the kpop videos for the first time and weren't a fangirl they'd often remark that the dancers were "cute" or "good looking." I wouldn't even ask ask, girls would just say that so supposedly girls find these guys to be physically attractive in some way. Of course they can still want a dominant guy. I knew a girl who liked the feminine k-pop aesthetic look but wanted a masculine personality. Girls are all over the place these days.

I've been to South Korea a couple times. Dated a Korean woman for a year or two. I've got a pretty good outsiders understanding of the culture.

Korea and this goes to China influenced Asian countries in general... they have an almost different kind of Alpha. It's hallmark is a quiet self confidence and a combination of competence and intellect. This used to be very common in America in my grandfathers generation.

Today I see what passes for Millennial Alphas in the US. They do have flash and "Swagga", but most are dumb as a post and completely incompetent... unable to either care for or support children. Post-Modern Feminism has destroyed masculinity to the point where it now exists in the West as a facade.

I will also say this about Korean guys. They have standards and expect things of women. I thought long and hard about what men expect from women here in the west and the only thing I can see is beauty. In the west we don't care if she is a shit mom, or a poor housekeeper, or has a great career, or no career... the only expectation we have for women is that they look good. Fuck most guys don't even expect them to be faithful anymore.

As for Psych studies. Sometimes they are bullshit, sometimes not. Game should be both something grounded in science and something experienced though feelings. So, reading the studies should never be an issue as long as it's conclusions can be seen in the field.

Young girls do in fact like effeminate looking men. For some this lasts forever, and others it fades with age. There must be a scientific explanation for this occurrence.

I think the effeminate thing is a red herring. Look at the body structure of the men. Do they move with confidence? Do they have narrow waists and (relatively) broad shoulders? In other words, are they masculine men with an effeminate veneer put over them (haircuts, makeup, etc)? Women see through the veneer and ignore it for the alpha goods underneath. We men see the veneer and rarely think to look further. I found this out one day when I asked my wife how on earth she EVER thought those effeminate rock groups were attractive. She literally didn't see the effeminacy as anything important; she was seeing the fundamentals. Bone structure. Courage. Confidence. Etc.

Good to know! Now I know I can slap on my favourite foundation and that vermillion Dior lipstick I got at a bargain price at a Sephora. Ah, I forgot to add about the silver-matte earrings, I can try them on, they will match with my pink jumper and a denim skirt, good for wearing when it's hot. This is spot on (except I don't think there is any agenda being pushed - you can find effeminate guys being considered desirable as far back as Ancient Greece), guys who really got this type of look down tend to be very confident and carry themselves as such.

No these guys are not gay, no, not every girl who likes them has mental issues and no, admitting that they represent one of several legitimate facets of male attractiveness (which, again stretches back to the beginning of history) doesn't make you gay or inferior to them.

Just in the same way that some guys like girls with big asses while others prefer skinny Asian girls, women are also into different types of men, and their preferences are not necessarily mutually exclusive. It's really not that complicated.

I too detect some hating. The funny thing is many guys who hate on the K-pop idols are the same ones who read the Game look up to Mystery even though he paints his fingernails, wears feather boas and makeup. This is not new...
Asian guys not just Korean knew this look is popular with girls, check out Korean and Japanese popstars in 90s and even 80s.
But to pull it off you need to be otherwise handsome, not just cake in makeup.
Height matters too. This is a youthful look that many Asian guys want to achieve in their 20s, youthful, fresh, with money, stylish

But I don't see it as a feminine look.
