He'll appoint a conservative. What you've laid out has been the "holy grail" of politics for a hundred years - keep your extremist base, and also grab the middle. Problem is, it's hardly ever done! Clinton (Bill, not The Cunt) had some success...he moved slightly to the middle, made moderate noises, and grabbed a chunk of the middle...but he retained his left-wing base by appointing lesbos and other feminists to key positions (Supreme Court, Attorney General, etc). But notice it was the court (and the justice department) that he gave to his base. Just as Trump will now.

Other than Clinton, JFK, and a few other naturally charismatic charlatans, the lesson is clear: Politicians who energize their base, and get turnout, do well (Reagan, Obama, George W Bush) and guys who stray too far into the mushy middle do not (Romney, McCain, George HW Bush). The Cunt was a noticeable exception: She played to her base, while the other party nominated a doofus...and yet The Cunt was so loathsome, she STILL couldn't win!

Again, I don't think Trump is a true conservative. But he wants their votes. His ego requires him to be re-elected. So he will go the route of energizing the base, and hope a strong economy will allow enough of the middle to give him a pass. OR that the Dimocrats will nominate a socialist freak, and make Trump almost look normal in comparison.
