I agree, Polar, but when you do the math surrounding his claims, it does not add up at all. He'd need to be like 55 or older for this to all make sense--and that is assuming he never took any breaks.

Of course, he doesn't have to prove anything if he doesn't want to, but I don't see how he thought exaggerating on some big things was not going to come back and bite him on his ass.

He isn't the only exceptional forum member on this forum. We know this. We have a guy who has/had a private jet at one point and that's just one dude that we know of.

After reading this whole thread today I can't decide whether I'm disappointed or not with the lack of closure, what more can people say unless Nola writes some more.

I don't understand why a educated/privileged person would join the FFL, it makes no sense to me. Initially I thought, ok maybe he wanted a EU passport, but then we find out for whatever reason he renounced his French citizenship for some other EU country.... we then find out later that he has/already a Estonian passport. It seems to me that the only people that join are from "shithole countries" or people with shady pasts.

What is the motive for someone to join the FFL after already being in the US army?

I think it might be pretty easy to lie about going to MIT if he had a friend or family member that went there.

I'll cut the guy some slack as far as timelines being exaggerated but I find it difficult to believe why he would want to do half of this shit he has allegedly done.

I have a friend from a privileged background who did 5 years in the Legion ‘à titre étranger’ (private). He did it for fun, for the travel, and for the bragging rights, and also because he was not a superstar at school. He enlisted at 19 at left at 24, and went on to study Business in College. He now manages a private security firm in Africa.

I have no idea if Nola tells the truth or not, but I have close friends and family ties to the Foreign Legion, and everything he says makes perfect sense. The only thing is that he doesn’t seem to know that Frenchmen can enlist à titre étranger (as privates), which is strange, considering he must have met many of them (of course, they usually pretend to be Belgian or Swiss).

Even if Nola’s résumé is partly or completely fictional, it still has merit and could be an inspiration to all the good-for-nothings on this forum.

Sense of adventure really, some guys are just like that. Nola also mentioned a DUI, and a drunk purchase of a plane ticket. To be honest, I make a lot of brash decisions when drunk, and if I got a DUI in the States, I'd probably do something pretty crazy too. You're incorrect about french citizenship, I have to stop you there. You're eligible for it after 3 years, but you don't have to take it. If you "spill blood" then you're eligible for it immediately. You're making an over-broad generalization about the type of people that join more than likely.

Why would someone join after being in the navy (not army)? Maybe an existential crisis, or a desire to get out of the US?

MIT claims have been checked by Quintis, and he indicates that he buys Nola's claim to have attended MIT.

I am sure the timelines are obfuscated a bit to protect privacy, I do the same thing commonly.

In any case, I personally met a handful of men in my life who had a life-experience almost as stunning as Nola's, so I tend to believe him. Dudes like that exist out there. For example, right-wing French ex-volunteers to the Yugoslav wars, men who went to fight at 20 for Serbia or (more often) Croatia, then logically went on making a career in "private security" worldwide, and speak five languages: they exist and if you listen to their life stories, they are at Nola's levels (except friggin MIT).

Simon Murray came from a privileged background, did his 5 years and, many years later, ended up as chairman of Glencore, so it does happen.

Over the years, I've met many of the very best that the military has to offer, and they would not be prone to making posts like the OPs. That said, in the OP's defence, I've met a fighter pilot instructor (a real life call sign Viper) who also had a very high qualification in a completely unrelated trade.

I don't think Nola is a bad guy necessarily and if he had come clean that he embellished things a little bit (or a great deal), then it wouldn't have been necessary. The only reason I got into this is because I saw some signs of a megalomaniac manipulating naive people. That's not cool.

I don't think I'm wrong, but if proof emerges of these feats, then obviously that's that and the forum will redeem Nola and punishment for my wrongful witch hunt can be meted out.

I have justified reason to believe most, if not all of his claims are truthful. You never addressed that. You ignored my point that I saw him in one of the videos. Whatever, you don't feel like engaging.

There was a pretty famous thread where members called out a another member for not being able to afford a porsche. And then they bitched, and bitched and bitched, and demanded proof. A bit gay if you ask me... Turns out he had a porsche.

Here's the real problem: I'm pretty sure most if not all people on the forum are exaggerating their gaming success, and, omitting most, if not all of their failures. Do they ever get called out? No, not really. Then someone like me comes along, and people bitch at me about my failures even though I am clearly improving, and giving them the unvarnished truth about my game. Instead members get jealous and call people out on their careers, or helpful career info they drop publicly for everyone's benefits.

Most people are normal, so yeah, some of this stuff is going to sound implausible to them, also, there are a lot of people in basements that are never going to leave the US or their comfortable home in the West to game, work, or start a new life. But I assure you, there are high achievers on the forum (I've met at least a few in person, and they really had their shit together, really successful careers and really fucking advanced long term gaming strategies that would blow your mind) and out in the real world that would never be near an office job, and have a spectacular set of skills. it's a natural thing, you either have it or you don't.

No, i think probably a hard-reset I would call it after a DUI. What do I know, I'm not a psychologist. Also, for reference, the Legion is one of the oldest and one of the most elite mercenary forces. It is a challenge, and they fight in front line combat with surprising frequency in almost every conflict france has been involved in.

Not unheard of for people to renounce citizenships, especially for tax reasons. To a normie, they would have no idea that it's somewhat common.

Whatever. I think his claims are true and have good reasons for being true, having done some due diligence myself. If you're gonna disregard my points because I happen to know him, I don't know what to tell you.

Sure, it's inspirational, but tell us it's your fiction novel. Do not try to come to this forum and act like you're some sort of authority. If you want to publish your Rambo fiction, I wouldn't bat an eyelash but if you're going to actively lie and deceive us, then prepare to get questioned.

I have justified reason to believe most, if not all of his claims are truthful. You never addressed that. You ignored my point that I saw him in one of the videos. Whatever, you don't feel like engaging.

There was a pretty famous thread where members called out a another member for not being able to afford a porsche. And then they bitched, and bitched and bitched, and demanded proof. A bit gay if you ask me... Turns out he had a porsche.

Here's the real problem: I'm pretty sure most if not all people on the forum are exaggerating their gaming success, and, omitting most, if not all of their failures. Do they ever get called out? No, not really. Then someone like me comes along, and people bitch at me about my failures even though I am clearly improving, and giving them the unvarnished truth about my game. Instead members get jealous and call people out on their careers, or helpful career info they drop publicly for everyone's benefits.

Most people are normal, so yeah, some of this stuff is going to sound implausible to them, also, there are a lot of people in basements that are never going to leave the US or their comfortable home in the West to game, work, or start a new life. But I assure you, there are high achievers on the forum (I've met at least a few in person, and they really had their shit together, really successful careers and really fucking advanced long term gaming strategies that would blow your mind) and out in the real world that would never be near an office job, and have a spectacular set of skills. it's a natural thing, you either have it or you don't.

I think Comte had a point when he called out Dragan's lack of life experience a few pages back. I have a cousin who works for NASA who would just love to meet dragan and discuss business.

Lack of life experience, what do you mean?

I'm pretty young but: I have a degree, have worked at NGOs/ Government organizations, have been a political consultant, have taught kids, have worked in marketing, graphic design, accounting, restaurant industry, among others. I've lived in Serbia long term... Lack of experience, yeah...
