Nowadays, at work, I don't feel the resentment.

I realised and accepted a fundamental truth:

I belong to the "tribe" that is looked down upon by all other tribes

(1) I will not take this personally, as they do not know me
(2) I will not look for sympathy or attempt to change the other tribes' opinion of my tribe
(3) I will not complain or protest
(4) I will not internalise the other tribes superiority complex into an inferiority complex

Once, I realised the above and came to the terms with it, the anger and resentment all but went away.

When people saw that it did not affect you did it change them in any way?

That's the beauty of it, you stop caring if it changes a person's opinion of you.

As long as a person doesn't lay hands on me, to hell what people assume of me.
