Same experience for me recently growing a full beard recently. I'm 43 and shaved head so it's really changed my appearance, combined with some mild to moderate muscles gains I've gotten significantly more IOIs and from much younger women, and lots of compliments from friends, family and acquaintances.

I typically only turn the hat around backwards when it's in the way while shooting photos or another activity.

Call me old school but if you're not a teenager I don't see a reason to wear a cap, specially backwards. Seems so frat-boy or redneck.

Some good comments - this thread is definitely going in the direction I hoped. A backwards cap may not work for every guy and there are large segments of the female population that don't even like that look. It's all about what works for you.

Anecdotally, I've noticed an uptick in the number of dudes wearing backwards caps around my town in the past day or so. I'm sure it's a direct result of this thread lol.

Are you younger than 20? Your hair is not that great anyway? Definitely try the hat in any way possible if it makes you look better.
Are you 20-25 and have just OK hair? Try the hat but be mindful of the situation and the place.
Are you 25+ and your hair is just OK or going bald? Consider improving your look but in my opinion don't wear a hat, it makes you look a bit stupid. No offense meant here.

If you have really good hair, you groom well and have a nice haircut by all means stay away from hats...girls love to run their hands on a full head of hair and play with their fingers!

Backwards ball caps tend to be associated with young American "douchey" athletes/frat bros. These are also the guys who get laid most. Good sexual sterotype for guys going for the douchebag player look that available girls like in bars.

Been experimenting with the backwards cap look and I get hyper polarized reactions - either instant no/repulsion or warm reception.

Backwards caps are also a good look for brown guys. It makes you look mainstream and integrated/American rather than ethnic/foreign. I often get asked where I'm from and think the backwards cap makes me look more black/mulatto/Hispanic as opposed to Indian.

Backwards caps also frame your face well.

Of course all of this is contingent on having a lean face and the swag to back it up.
