I think I can't use the Pet Shop Opener if I ever want to take the chick to my place and she sees there's a huge petshop right across the street from my place haha. Will be good to practice though and have some fun with, plus I'm moving in a year.

Hmm.... Oh wait I could just say that the pet shop by my place doesn't have X thing, or pet.... sounds good.

Correct. What is the one animal that the pet store doesn't have? Go inside and check it out.

Whenever a girl tells me of a pet shop located nearby, I say, "Yeah I already tried that store, they don't have dogs, unfortunately." The goal is to keep her stationary so you can continue rambling, until your bait hooks.

There's not petshop in downtown Toronto which makes this an easy opener and one thats easy to ramble about!

Yeah the only time it's not so easy is when there is a pet store within sight. This is pretty rare though, as most pet stores in urban areas faded out years ago. Most are in suburban areas.

Even in that case, couldn't you just use the same strategy of saying you already tried that one and they didn't have whatever you were looking for?

Tell them that pet shop has been fined for cruelty to animals, and that's why you don't shop there. That's the safe route.

Now, what I would say:

The only time I went there 2 gay dudes were buying gerbils. It creeped me out so bad I can't go back in.

You've overthinking it. Once you get passed the number stage, the girl really doesn't care if your opener was a lie, because now she likes you.
