This parable right here, has almost single-handedly changed my life for the better. I used to stress, over-analysize, intellectualize, dwell on events that didnt go my way, now i just take them in my stride. It ties in well with this one: You Are Exactly Where You Need to Be. For me personally:

- If i didnt get the sack from that job all those years ago, i wouldnt have been so determined and resolute in developing myself professionally and personally;
- If i didnt get rejected by all those girls, i wouldnt have spent so much time learning game and now being on top of it (almost);
- If i didnt lose my dad in 2016, in the time i needed him most, i wouldnt have re-discovered my love for painting;
- If i didnt miss out on those big painting sales i almost made, i wouldnt have developed that app that is now close to being sold, which would set me and my family up for life.

There are so many of these that come to mind, but these are the main ones. I used to get super worked up when things like this happened, but now when they do, i just think, 'ok, let's see what comes of it'. They still fucking hurt when they happen, but im ok with it.

I probably snort some slizzle, extra sour.

Take a pouch of Cool Aid outta my pocket, mumble some words about how I still listen to Tetris music from my OG game boy. Puff out of the old Peterson.

By this time I should be high enough, all these old habits sputtering like a cheap car that’s just grasping to start.

Thing about the tide, always comes back and all those moments in your life seem to come back in the oddest times of the day. They say living in the moment is the greatest way to success too often, the world wants you to focus on the moment.

I like to unfocus, every person wants to steal your soul and kick the piss out of you that’s why conformity has been contorted. Conformity is a couple words away from comfy yet conforming has always been the exact opposite leaving me as not a leader but as somebody who looks for approval.

Hunter X Hunter had it right, adventure is always waiting for you under your nose.

One parable: I was on a long journey by horseback and I neglected my horse: fed him bad food, didn't let him sleep enough, pushed him too hard, didn't take care of injuries. As a result, my horse gave out on me, and now I have to finish the journey on foot.

I wish I could give you some piece of pop culture, some movie, some song that encapsulates the challenge and meaning of life, but I don't think it exists.

The greatest single piece of advice I can give to a young man is that he should take the image of the man he wishes to be, and compare that to the man he currently is... and then to work out in a realistic fashion how to bring those two men together while learning to accept the parts he cannot change.
