I think women lie more. They live in a subjective reality where there feelings about something are the truth, so if they're telling a story about something that happened, they will say what the feel makes a more interesting story, or they will tell the story in a way that reflects how they feel right now about the person they are talking to. This approach results in saying a lot of things that just aren't strictly factual, and are often 180 from the truth.
