You are way overpacking. LA is super casual, jeans and a T-shirt pretty much everywhere, most people wear that to work in this town.

If you have things that will make you look "British" by all means, bring it. If you have really nice stuff that is high end, bring it.

Clothes are so much cheaper in the USA, I would be coming with an empty suitcase if I were you.

Maybe come with a nice suit, dress shirt and dress shoes.

There are tons of outlets stores where you can get designer goods for cheap.

H&M and Uniqlo is cheap crap, leave that at home.

Thanks for the post. H&M & Uniqlo gear is very variable - some of it is completely fine; quite a lot of it sucks. But Uniqlo has quite a strong record on polos. I have a Sunspel 'Casino Royale' Riviera so I know what a good polo looks like.

The price issue I have dealt with - clothing is cheaper in USA in terms of walk-up but if you know what you're doing online UK can be very good.

If I see better gear, I will buy it and replace no problem. But I don't want an enforced shopping agenda.

I actually have been reviewing and revising quite a lot as a result as some of this thread so am grateful. Mini heatwave (relatively speaking) in the UK has brought some perspective.

So yeah the henley, jumper and stone suit go. I'm bringing a blue-black microcheck suit, the jacket can be worn with the jeans. I'm bringing another nicer linen-cotton suit (Jaeger, an UK brand). The wool-linen jacket is up for debate.

The white jeans are bulk for sure, and whilst I love them and they're versatile - to some women they're probably a faux pas, sad to say. It's a tough call, but I think they stay home.

I'm a complete clothesaholic and don't really need to be told to buy clothes, but I'm thinking that a pair of box fresh white sneaks could be in order.
The black ones will come, I need something for Crossfit and my Vivos just bust - they're wearable but a bit sorry looking sadly. Blue suede loafers are Bally and are coming.

A lot of offices in London aren't that much different in terms of dress code thesedays, but I'm not *really* a t-shirt guy - I prefer to frame my face at least a little bit, even if it's just a short-sleeved henley or something like that. I'd actually just rather wear a decent vest, that way my shoulders frame my face :-)
