It's not the most fashionable thing in the world, but because it goes around your neck and not in your pocket, nobody will steal it and leave you stranded in a foreign country with no cash, no card, and no passport.

RFID blocking ones will also show up on airport security scans.

I have worn a Pacsafe Coversafe for years whenever I travel internationally. It just loops around your belt and hides behind your pants. The loop is much longer than pictured (fastened by velcro) and it allows full access when it is withdrawn from concealment.

6x black tee's, 10x black socks, 1-3 pairs of shoes, a few nice button up shirts, 2 pairs of belts to match to the shoes(example, your wearing a blue button up polo, dark denim jeans and tan shoes. You need a tan belt for aesthetics). I tend to overpack and then just get rid of shit or give it away because it ends up making my luggage too heavy. I.E. I will arrive with my backpack, carry on and 1 check bag. After the first month or so I have gotten rid of enough stuff to get rid of the checked bag and little things here and there. Safe travels mate!

Edit:Forgot to mention, I always bring a haircutter with me because I keep my hair extremely short so I can go 1-2 months without cutting it. A razor is a nice add-on so you don't get a neck beard too if you can grow a nice full one..

Travel bidet. Eastern European sandpaper cuts up my asshole which makes the daily 10M walks unpleasant. When I combine that with digestive issues of local cuisine which I always struggle with, it's good to have this little companion to ensure everything is quick, comfortable and clean. Real clean.

Actually once you use a bidet regularly you begin to think everyone who doesn't is dirtier. There's the old argument of "well my mom taught me how to wipe". Really. So if you got dog shit on your hand you'd wipe it off with toilet paper, no water and pretend you're nice and clean?

Also, noise cancelling headphones. On my last flight to Europe we ponied up for business class. There was some snot nosed fucktard sitting behind us, coughing and sniffling the entire 11 hour flight. My headphones protected my investment. Without them I might have been arrested in Frankfurt for homicide. When people sniffle over and over and refuse to blow their nose, my impulse is to stab them in the face with a fork. But that's a discussion for another time. It's basic etiquette.

If you travel in tropical regions then a daily 5-10.000 mg are recommended - if you fuck lots of girls of questionable STD-status - ditto. Because even with STDs it's not anywhere near certain that you get it when you she has it - if your body's immune system is strong enough.

IMO, the most useful travel item is a lightweight max volume carry on backpack. It'll be what you use whenever you travel, whether on planes or hopping from one area to the next.

Fill it with the stuff you need. I have a few small bottles of shaving oil and coconut oil, some tooth powder, a toothbrush, an old 2-blade cartridge razor with replaceable ones, some earphones, light eye mask, ear plugs. Add in a couple pairs of v necks, underwear, and socks, and that's enough to go just about anywhere comfortably.

Smartphone with travel apps like google maps with offline maps downloaded, google translate, a currency converter, messaging and email apps are all tremendously helpful.

I second the empty water bottle. Fill it up once you're inside the terminal or before you go out for a long day.

Another hugely helpful item is a lightweight day bag that folds up in itself when not in use. Less gay than fanny packs, and tremendously convenient to carry around stuff like water bottles, power banks, umbrellas, documents, and any shit you buy for the day.

If you're backpacking, I found a small immersion heater and large titanium mug to be invaluable. Many places I stayed made it hard to find breakfast places nearby, or the food quality was questionable. I ended up cooking hardboiled eggs, oatmeal, and instant or drip coffee dozens of times while traveling, only needing some water and an electrical outlet. Perfect for slow mornings, and adds up to huge savings over time if you're on a long backpacking adventure.

I saw you talking about this in the vaccinations thread a little while back.

I'm planning a 6-9 month trip to SEA and don't plan on getting any vaccinations.

Lugging around jugs of powdered vitamin C seems like a hassle, especially for longer trips and I plan on packing pretty light (45L bag). One bottle lasts what 1 month at most? What do you suggest for much longer trips?

I would take one box or find out whether that country has at least the option of purchasing vitamin c of good big producers like Swanson, Now Foods, Solgar. In some countries many pharmacies sell at least good vitamin C tablets of doses up to 1000mg. But you need to check out for the producer - many companies either add toxins or ingredients which block the effectiveness (many bodybuilder vitamin c supplements have blocking agents, so the 1000mg doses are useless). 95%+ of all supplement companies cannot be recommended at all.

Sometimes organic/health food stores have good producers too. In addition local orthomolecular doctors know where to buy it, some have it themselves. You can find orthomolecular doctors across the world already.
