There's supposedly an awful lot of stuff that didn't get handed in too. Keep hearing about tens of thousands of sks carbines came into the country and only a few hundred ever got handed in for example. Hell, I know of a few people who've hinted they buried quite a few rifles. Not that such law abiding people would ever break a stupid law (hello ASIO!).
Occasionally get an old farmer keel over and they find quite the arsenal they never registered too. Heard about one where the police supposedly ended up carting off stuff up to 20mm.

All quite pointless, short of a collapse of society. I hear the same stories, and from credible sources. But yeah, these old geezers are dying off and the stuff they took the time to bury is essentially becoming an unmarked time capsule.

As they say, when you have to bury your guns then that's the last thing you should actually be doing with them.

It's damn sad really Leonard, you and me are of an age we can remember the last of the Australia that was, and it's gone. I don't really recognize what's in it's place now, though there's bits.

Guess all we can really do is muddle along, survive the coming unpleasantness and pick up the pieces afterwards.

NRA announces drive to recruit 100,000 new members in 100 days
