Being part African myself, I too came to certain conclusions years ago and would ask the same questions; why can’t African nations get it together? Why are so many dead last in terms of economic measurements? Why do people continually blame “the other” and make excuses instead of taking action to improve their own station?

Look, I’m not going to pretend I lived through apartheid and colonialism. Hell, being born in the USA means you’ve hit the ovarian jackpot in a lot of ways. But this retribution idea that because my forefathers were oppressed means I have to exact revenge doesn’t make sense to me. Do millennial Afrikaners sit around during the braai and talk about “how they used to kick ass and take names back in the day?” I find that hard to believe.

No progress will be made until some harsh truths are realized and accepted. Pointing fingers at everyone except yourself gets old and eventually the world will grow weary of it. The day when they realize that may be one that can set forth a new period of overall improvement. Until then, I will continue to live in developed countries that understand the importance of authenticity.

The market makes outsourcing your domestic work cheap and it's the norm here. Anyone would do it but it's problematic when a good portion of society is unable to cook, clean, wash up etc.

As for Charlize Theron being cunty, I will pass on my judgement the same way I will pass on judging your response which I failed to find any value in and to which you think you are the judge of people's destinies across the world.

You will find diaspora around the world behave as such due to the emotions and time invested building a country and leaving it due to times changing. You could find about half a dozen cognitive and psychological biases covering this.

Suggestion: balance the discussion by providing facts or being ever slightly unbiased based off your experiences.

I have nearly been killed twice, once by coloreds and once by Nigerians by I know better than to generalize that all of them are killers. Think about it.

As for why Africa has trouble developing;

- Cronyism is rampant

- They are bad at being corrupt (infrastructure is shitty)

- They cannot maintain said infrastructure (the word 'maintanance' does not exist in any sub-Saharan African language (Bantu based); this shocked me when a civil engineer gave a technical presentation at a social group I meet up with)

- Tribalism means democratic values are non-existent or not a priority

- A lot of basic beliefs still hold strong (Sangomas, muti, black magic and supersitions) -> I have come to believe some of this with the shit I have seen first hand

- Your average voter listens to the radio or watches the TV which is purely propaganda. They read newspapers such as The Sowetan which have an agenda. Their neighbours vote that way and so on and so forth. It's identity politics at its finest.

From an academic perspective this comment on reddit explains a few theories;

On a personal level, I believe colonialism is to blame but not so much the 'white man's fault' directly but rather the fact that the country was developed to the point that the power vacuum caused a more risk/reward scenario.

E.g. if the country was to start from scratch, cooperation would be more likely compared to political parties and tribes fighting for a country which already had a decent infrastructure in place, similar to Russia in the 90s where it was purely cronyism.

Tribal borders would be impossible and it seems the post-Modernist border approach is incompatible for a lot of African nations.

Thus, we are in a zero sum game battle of you vs me (race relations) instead of a cooperative environment. Then you have the fallacy of 'White Monopoly Capital' being pushed by various entities and state capture that occurred during the Zuma regime by the Gupta family.

An academic paper on the state capture as the Public Protector's report is a lengthy 355 pages.

I am sorry, but seems like everyone is tiptoeing around the issue. Even here we have a certain slanted bias since most black RVF members including guys like Mikado or Kosko are far above average IQ even of Whites or Ashkenazi Jews.

Though that country would likely have an IQ above Ashkenazi Jews if you took the smartest 10 mio. Let those smart folk reproduce like crazy and within 100 years you get 150 mio. Africans who perform like equivalents to the Japanese. That's it frankly.

Are there any other solutions? None which are PC and this one here is non-PC as well. For South Africa things won't change. By the way - I heard an interview once by a Jamaican 160-IQ black guy who lived in Japan as a programmer. He also mentioned this as a solution - a smarter African contry implementing a positive eugenics program and sticking with it for generations. That guy is smart by standards of all races and he clearly shares my opinion on that subject.

My own black friends are also highly slanted in that regard - engineer in Moscow, doctor from Kongo living in Paris, black Viking in Norway. If South Africa was populated by guys like that then we would not be having this thread now. They could work things out with the minority White population on equal terms.

Will anything above happen in a country like South Africa? No way in hell. Maybe in the future a country like Togo could implement such a thing - I have friends from there and there have been talks about it, but it's still a long way from execution.

To clear things up-

Corruption: They are bad at being corrupt. Simply put, many countries are corrupt but don't let it interfere with their provision of public goods and maintenance of state owned enterprises such as RSA. (Eskom, PRASA, SAA etc.). Here, it extends way past that to the point of bailing out SAA (after shitloads of wasted expenditure of the taxpayer money) and certain other things.

Then every now and then, we have loadshedding (power cuts) because the system apparently cant handle it. They increase electricity tariffs as per their basic understanding of supply and demand and then after 2 months it's fine. Like a taxation of demand inelastic provisions -> fucking electricity.


Muti: This is not children specific, it's human specific. Of course, there is plant medicine but I hate being ambiguous so in my context it's very much human body parts.

It's just backward, similar to Asia and poaching rhinos, tigers but you have some strange satanist groups, people raping virgins to rid themselves of HIV etc. It's backward no matter how you try and defend it or rationalize it.


Maintenance being non-existent in their language: In the words of the Rwandan engineer who gave the presentation "This explains quite a bit".

It's precisely what you make of it, they are unable to maintain infrastructure on the whole. Not just the government. Individuals themselves. You walk around and there's trash everywhere, South Africans think that their plastic waste will magically disappear. They steal copper wiring used for internet (DSL) and sell it for pennies on the dollar. There are a lot of examples like this.

Let me be clear, examples vary;
copper wiring -> poverty/hustle;
trash -> cultural/education;
public enterprises becoming shitty -> lack of maintenance

These overlap and aren't always mutually exclusive.

Train examples 1 and 2

You could smell the plastic being burned, 10km away from the town centre. Now you have a monthly shooting of train security guards, closing them down so that people are forced to use minibus taxis.

If Japan managed to do it, sure but that's apples and oranges.

- different work ethics
- different government approach
- better circumstances/starting point
- no colonization
- fairly homogenous population
- hierarchical society and culture

All you need is a better starting point, homogenous culture and lack of colonization. I have concluded that a relative deficiency in abstract thinking may explain many things that are typically African.

“But we know all the words of Kikuyu; every Kikuyu does,” they replied. I was even more surprised, but gradually it dawned on me that since their language is entirely oral, it exists only in the minds of Kikuyu speakers. Since there is a limit to what the human brain can retain, the overall size of the language remains more or less constant. It goes on. It's quite measured yet eye opening. I would be very interested to know what other guys who've put boots on the ground think of it.

It paints a bleak picture and the implication is that whites are constantly trying to teach blacks things that they simply have no capacity to comprehend, in the same way that no matter how hard a leading theoretical physicist tried to explain his newest theory to me it would be utterly pointless because I don't just lack the teaching required to "get it", I flat out lack the fundamental biological processing power to grapple with those concepts.

What's worse is that society refuses to concede that such an unbridgeable biological gap even exists, and so for decades we have been making countless sacrifices toward a goal that is and always was fundamentally impossible.
