Oh man I saw this old Tex Avery cartoon "Aviation Vacation"...that one was probably the most racist of them all! But I read a biography on Tex Avery I was surprised to read a part where he said he actually never had children in mind for the cartoons he made, (he'd made them for adults) and yet they were marketed for kids.

The Warner Bros/Tex Avery and his cartoons that used to come on regular TV when I was a child in the 80s were already 35 - 40 years old by the time I started watching them.

I was too young to pick up on a lot of these things but it's unique how long they aired and no one thought anything of it. It was seen as harmless fun.

Proud to have spent my youth in the pre-PC era.
