After coming across the notion of SMV I have been under the impression that women are more clueless as to their places in the reality of how men really think and how that relates to them getting the kind of man they want, but now I'm not so sure.

When I look around I see so few guys doing anything that would improve their standing with woman and when I bring up realities relating to how women get what they want a lot of guys are incredulous. They just seem to assume they sit there and wait for a woman to fall into their lap, which is more like the female strategy.

Then I look around and I see quite a lot of girls hitting the base of doing what they can to make themselves more physically attractive. They've at least understood the dynamic that men aren't that interested in unattractive women. Though it ends there and most women are pretty clueless beyond this, particularly regarding to how their SMV falls as they age and what they can do to extract what they want from the market of men.

By and large there are two female strategies:

1) make yourself as attractive as you can - making yourself a high-hanging fruit to make men climb the tree to do battle for you
2) do absolutely nothing, fall off the tree and wait for someone to pick you up

It seems more guys are taking the latter route also. The problem is if you're not particularly attractive you probably won't get picked up; and if you are you are limiting yourself to a small number of generally low quality women who see you as an opportunity to get access to better looks than they are worth.

I think it is a common understanding that women are "the true red-pill" creatures.
They just process it differently (intuitively).

We live in some strange times, so there are a lot of deluded people of both sexes not doing simple things to make themselves attractive or get in front of the opposite sex.

Women (in the west at least) may work hard to dress well, get in shape and otherwise prepare themselves to be attractive to men - but when it comes to approaching itself they are pretty accustomed to letting men do the work.

There's a huge caveat here, that being if girls are around a highly-attractive, top-10% kind of guy, they will have no qualms being extremely forward in pursuing him. (Check out a frat party or a high-roller social event to see this kind of thing in action.) Women further have an evolved strategy of concealment, so the subterfuge can get quite interesting.

I don't think this is worth debating/discussing a lot in the newbie forum; if you're in the newbie forum, you should be out approaching girls IRL, making yourself attractive, and getting your life together.

Both sexes are quite mistaken with what makes us attractive, but at least men are pretty much aware of what makes the opposite sex appealing.

That is a bit funny...in North American media, male sexual response is acknowledged, then dissed. Female sexual response is the object of much misdirection, like it's too hot to handle to talk about what's really turning them on. Witness the rise of "safe space" rhetoric and affirmative-consent rules in parallel to the runaway success of Twilight and 50 Shades.

A lot depends on where you are, the prevalent couture, the amount of welfare and the competition for high value men.

In western nations, high welfare, thirsty men means women don't have to make an effort.

In Asia and EE, welfare is not so lucrative and women make an effort to lock down a man and his resources.

Girls are the pioneers of game and light years ahead of us. How many “PUA” forums exist for them? I agreee with your observations about some letting themselves go and some going the other way. Back in the day girls were generally obsessed with NOT being fat and took better care of themselves. Nowadays, it’s trendy to be a pseudo dyke and act like low class trailer trash and actually be proud of it.
