First I hope that I'm adhering to all forum rules with this post. Second, I want to thank all the guys who gave me pointers and helped when asked. You guys really saved me. Shoutout to all the brothers o here too. Without further ado:

Day 1

I fucked up. I've been planning this trip for two weeks but obviously, it would've been too easy to be on time. It was always, "I got time" or "I'm good" but the world makes you pay for your irresponsibility.

The flight was scheduled for yesterday night at 8:49 p.m. to Medellin and I kept telling myself that I would have enough time but that wasn't the case.

Instead of being at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to departure I got there 20 minutes and by the time I was running towards the terminal I was informed by the JetBlue assistant that flag had already closed. I was give two options: Fly to Cartagena the next day or wait until the 9th to fly Medellín.
Coming from Orlando, there was no way I was going to drive up from Fort Lauderdale without shame and wait four more days so this being a journey, I took the next day flight to Cartagena.

As you probably expect I got here 2 hours before thankfully I checked my bags in last night and paid for them. They were tourists and people I assumed were locals on the flight. There was at least one solid 7 and 8 on the flight. Again, I assumed the 8 was a local.
From the jump, I noticed the hustle. One attendant took my bags then asked for a tip. Gave him a dollar. This was nothing compared to the taxi drivers. This is where you guys came in. I remember reading to take Uber and forget the taxi. Brother man said he could take me to my Airbnb, in Las Gaviotas, for $30 USD. Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! I knew he was trying to finesse me. I knew as long as I had WiFi, which is shitty in the airport, I could find the true price. How much? $8! I'm trying to keep my finessed down to a minimum. I'm 28, not 8.
Before I continue I want to say there was more than enough women at the airport that I, I would bang. Can't speak for y'all. One man's trash is another's treasure. There were many beautiful sisters there. I primarily stick to my own before looking outward but there was many women in general that could've gotten the D. I also am a chubby-chaser—nuff said.

Uber took me to the home, which I'm paying 10$ a night for but may end up staying longer is I want to find a cheap ticket to Medellin. It's a 31 yo woman who lives upstairs but her parents are downstairs. Nice people. Just came from a food joint a couple mins from the house. Gates, Gates and more gates. Reminds me of Little Haiti, Miami infrastructure.

While being driven to the house, I saw the city. The poverty and near destitution. Outside the Old City, it's the real Cartagena. I don't think there's much tourist over here. I might be black but I'm still an American.
I didn't notice much glares, stares or looks but I wasn't trying to I grill anyone anyways. I passed two forts and looked in awe at their siZe. I could only imagine it's construction.

Anyways, I settled in and will post pic of the room. I'm charged for room but the woman isn't coming til Wednesday so I have the whole apartment to myself.

Now, it's mongering and shoring time. Wish me luck. Haiti City out.

If that statement bothered you, I understand but it doesn't make it untrue. Really, I'm an Afrikan since my family still prays to the Old Gods but I'm an American. I won't be a spoiled hypocrite and say I hate being one but it is what it is.


I WANT to go to Quibdó and Buenaventura against ALL warnings just to see black Colombians. It's the main reason why I'm here.

Unlike most people who would've blown you off, I actually want to make people happy esp. My own.

Avianca princes change every hour. You want a cheap price you must check the website frequently. The airline is fucked at the moment due to the strike. Also keep in mind you might be able to get a ticket from Barranquilla to Medellin cheaper , in that case you can jump on a shuttle bus to Barranquilla for about 8 dollars.

Man your writing is almost incomprehensible. Please think out what you want to write first and then start reporting. You are jumping from one thought to the next and its hard to follow.
