Its the assault in this case and not the divorce for adultery that is unbiblical.

If this kind of assault is permitted I would not be surprised if there will be more husbands being murdered by their wives.

This type of assault is not permitted. Reason why it was punished with probation. That´s it. There´s nothing ordinary about the sentence. This was an appeal decision. The first decision was also of probation.

The problem and hysteria is not with the sentence. Nobody is questioning the sentence and the application of rule of law. Since in any civilized country you get probation with first strike in domestic abuse. What´s causing all this turmoil is the citing of the bible. Not the sentence itself but the reasoning, the iter, the justification the judge used. Mentioning the bible is what´s being discussed as unreasonable.
The judge just got a disciplinary action opened against him.
Had he not mention the bible. And the decision wouldn´t have any importance.

This is just to close to my heart not to say someting. I even know a guy who claims he played soccer with this judge. (which it's plausible since they're from the same region and social setting). I'm just having just to much fun with this nonsense. It's unbeliveble this made international news and even a thread in this forum.

Some guy stated our justice system is fucked up and he's right, another broke down the story the right way: She was not beaten with a spiked mace, the decison was not based on the bible, etc.

But I will like to add this pearl for you appreciation. From the FB of a portuguese member of parliament (Isabel Moreira). I'm not sure how she were able to get it or if it is even true, but it's a message the guy supposedly sent to his ex-wife. I will leave it in portuguese and will make a 'free' translation for you all:

Now, though I agree adultery shouldn't be delt with this amount of violence, the fact that she let her lovers fuck her in the ass but not the husband, can make us sympathize a little more with the guy's anger.

But member fantome also did a nice explanation of the all case. This is just 'spinning' out of control with the patronage of the Socialist and Comunist Partys here in PT, which are in Government, with the responsability of more than 100 dead people in the summer fires on their back. They want people to forget about that. So they're trying their best to make this a 'question'. Which is not.

Dumb bitch got what she deserved. Fucking around in really small and conservative city in PT could get her killed, that she only got a beating it's almost a miracle. Judge made a sound decision in my experience. I know the 'millieu' very well.

The real 'mistake' judge made was citing the bible, even the president of the Supreme Tribunal came forward saying judge should be more carefull with his 'language'.

Breaking this down: they didn't 'kidnapped' her. I'm going to speculate on this:

Her lover called her husband bragging about being with her at that very moment and the guy just snapped, went there and beat the shit out of her with her lover helping/watching.

What I take from all this is that these are all low class people who deserved each other.

The fun thing is when I ask someone if they think that her behavior (cheating her husband, fucking around, giving ass to lover and not the husband, etc) should be punished or reprimended in any way, most just shrug their shoulders and say nothing.

Meaning bitches can fuck around with no respect and no consequences.

Well this bitch learned her lesson - respect thy husband - and I'm glad there are still judges in PT who can assert this lesson.

At the very least she could have indulged the poor sap to some anal...
