Yeah, it's Mackenzie Davis. She can actually look pretty good when she goes feminine. See the Black Mirror episode "San Junipero." This Terminator thing is a nasty look for her, though.

I was a little turned on by her weirdo-tomboy look in the show, but after H&CF got really deep into the grrrrrrrl power bullshit I went flaccid.

Wayne from Wayne's World knew what was up. I never really bought her as a tough chick after Terminator, but it was at least watchable because she was hot (and back in the 1990s, much more plausibly tough than today - she wasn't invincible).

I did enjoy Terminator Genisys quite a bit, mainly because of how shamelessly they said "screw precedent, we're just gonna have fun with this timeline and go crazy". Sarah Connor Chronicles, what I watched of it, wasn't horrible either.

Absolutely no desire to see this if it isn't free. That publicity photo is just mean. I've loved Terminator since I was a pre-teen and they're just giving me the finger. Who does this appeal to?!

Beat me to the punch on this one. Did McKenzie Davis lift for this role? Sure looks like it. Nobody can do a better job of making tomboys still look appealing than James Cameron, but the look being pushed forward here isn't it. The haircut makes her look like a K-Pop singer who went on roids and those hips ain't capable of anything but miscarriages. I have to imagine if Cameron actually directed this he would have tried to make Davis slightly more feminine. After all, he's the one who insisted that the Navi had to have "tits" (his term) even though his fictional alien biology didn't require it.

Looks like Tilda Swinton's got some younger competition on the androgynous roles going forward.
