Newbie Goals
It would be great if Roosh could answer this question but I'd love to get some other people's insights.

I'm pretty new to pickup and the thing that I think has caused me to not follow through on learning this stuff in the past is not setting reasonable goals. IE... go out 3 nights a week and open 5 sets before you go home.

I think Roosh said that when he goes out he doesn't go home until he opens 10 sets. And if he gets to 10 sets it's a blood bath. I guess my question for the forum is being a newbie how many nights a week and how many sets should I open a night as a reasonable goal?

Also, i know you say that getting caught up in the opener is a common hang up that is stupid i wanted to know what default opener you'd used starting out. Being totally new to this i was just going to go out and just try to open 5 sets a night with something stupid like "Did you see that guy get arrested last night?" or something dumb like "are you from the midwest?" and then not concentrate on what she says just really concentrate on getting over my approach anxiety n and getting out and about.

So what are some reasonable goals that you set when you started? and what type of default basic opening would you recommend? and do you think that's a good strategy.

RE: Newbie Goals
Ok, first how old are you? And whats your history - total noob/virgin or a few gf's/fb's before?

Sure, approaching is definitely important and would no doubt teach you a ton but you gotta make sure you don't do it for too long without having a gf/fb on the side, coz prolonged failure could kill your spirit or might turn you into an approach-bot with no real success. OTOH, if you're doing it while already having some default arrangement, you're gonna get much better results(coz you wont be needy anymore)

Also, night-game itself is on a steady decline, as many have been pointing out, so I'd suggest you should focus on day-game as well. This would teach you the difference in female behavior which is going to be a like night and day(no pun intended).

Apart from that, go online as well. That's fast becoming a good resource for some decent quality pussy.

As far as number of approaches/day are concerned, I'd say don't chase any target. Rather, all your motivation come from within - your horniness should keep making you work till it is quenched!

Game is a necessary evil

RE: Newbie Goals
It all depends on what you think a good goal for you will be. None of us know your story and we all have different opinions of goal setting. I for one didn't jump into the deep end right away and approach 10 girls every night and I would guess most guys on here didn't either. It may lengthen the learning curve a bit but set a goal slightly higher than your comfort level and keep increasing from there. I know that goes against what most people teach, but you not going to have the experience or the courage to talk to dozens of girls on your first night out. Maybe start with a couple approaches, and keep increasing that number every time you go out. In the end it's going to come down to what you think will be best for improvement.

As for me, I bought bang and got into the game about a year and a half ago. I have literally just started seeing huge strides over the past few months. It took me a good 6 months to simply internalize what I was reading and change my body language and whatnot. It sure as hell doesn't happen overnight. Once you get rejected enough, you start seeing patterns in the interactions you are having. You will make simple mistakes with a lot of girls until finally you start to "get it". You will have a few good nights where everything goes your way after a lot of nights where everything doesn't.

Keep grinding it out and work your ass of until you get to the point where your swagger will turn heads when you walk into a room.

That's really good info. Maybe i'll set it at 4 approaches a night and just use the basic openers that Roosh has in Bang. That's for the input. If i could ask, what were your first couple of months like?

RE: Newbie Goals
When I was just starting out, my goal was to talk to as many women as possible. I don't wait til night time. I make conversation with them from 10am til 10pm.

Mostly using "situational openers"

Often times, its just......"Hi, how are you"?

Once I became comfortable talking to girls, my goal was to get numbers.

Eventually, I started getting alot of numbers but alot "flaked". So I had to go back to building attraction and comfort in the initial interaction. This lowered my "flake rate".

Then my goal was to get dates. Once I started getting dates on a regular basis, my goal was to get bangs.

This structure has worked well for me, allowing me to focus on one step at a time.

My first couple months were brutal to say the least. I let so many opportunities pass me by because I was always waiting for the perfect moment to approach. I didn't have the balls to approach in tough situations. I also had that needy vibe that girls could sense from a mile away. I would over think every interaction and constantly checked my posture and body language. The majority of girls I was talking to were social circle type girls that I met through a mutual friend.

It is absolutely necessary to push through the rejections and fix your mistakes one by one. I like Giovonny's structure as it doesn't put too much pressure on you and you will constantly see small improvements.
