Justine Damond, 40, was killed in what police confirmed was an “officer-involved shooting” in the city’s Fulton neighbourhood after a 911 call was made.

Minnesota newspaper The Star Tribune reports Ms Damond was dressed in her pyjamas when she went to the driver’s side door of the police vehicle that responded to the emergency call.

She was talking to the driver when the officer in the passenger seat pulled out his gun and shot across his fellow officer.

I want to take a moment to recognize Officer Mohamed Noor, the newest Somali officer in the Minneapolis Police Department.

Officer Noor has been assigned to the 5th Precinct, where his arrival has been highly celebrated, particularly by the Somali community in and around Karmel Mall. The community even hosted a meet and greet event (see pics) to welcome him. A wonderful sign of building trust and community policing at work.

Welcome Officer Noor and all of the new officers in their new precinct assignments across the City.

Yay Diversity! Clearly having a diverse force is much more important than hiring by IQ and ability.

He shot across the chest of the driver of his patrol car to hit her several times, while the driver was talking to her.

That in itself is somewhat unusual. Drawing from a seated position, while keeping eyes on the target, and then discharging while in a car might not be as likely as him approaching the scene with his gun already unholstered while in the vehicle, Somali-technical style, before he had even seen what was going on. Also unknown is why his partner did not seem to get any rounds off, though a nine millimeter going off repeatedly inches from his face, inside a car, unexpectedly, as he was looking the other way and not expecting it might have had something to do with it.

I’m normally very forgiving of police mistakes, but how do you shoot a pretty 40 year old blond yoga instructor in pajamas when you arrive at a possible assault call? Unless this woman was high on drugs or totally out of control, it looks pretty bad. I’m sure it will get just as much media coverage as thug Michael Brown diving into a Police Officer’s cruiser to fight with him right after committing a strong arm robbery, though. The Fake News is nothing if not predictable.

Hiring Somalis is just a bad idea. Nobody with a brain would import people whose average IQ is 69 (meaning fully half have sub-69 IQ’s), let alone hire such people whose religion is hostile to America and freedom, and then put them in a high speed job, with a gun, where one mistake would kill innocent people. That they restructure math, reading, and writing police tests into personality tests so they can hire mentally retarded Somalis at the expense of more qualified candidates is shameful.

But view it from the perspective of an ugly leftist r-strategist feminist, who would otherwise never have found anyone who would mate with her. Her ranking on the mate-value scale just went up one notch. That is the r-strategist reproductive strategy when importing violent foreigners with low IQs and a hostile ideology. They are importing violent savages all over the world because they are hoping they will kill us for them. That is how the human r-strategy has evolved to compete while minimizing personal risk and personal conflict. And it is why Communism has killed so many.

When the Apocalypse goes down, all of this will go away, and the meritocracy will return out of necessity.

I'm guessing he's out of a job, but there will be no criminal charges. The factored combination of the judicial system protecting their own and the superior victim status of being a Somalian definitely trumps being a white woman.

That being said, I can't imagine that it is police procedure to shoot a fucking gun from the interior of a vehicle two inches from your partner's head. He'll most likely be pushed in the direction of resigning so that everyone can save face.

Yeah, but police culture doesn't help. A lot of them are in a mentality where they feel that either you comply to anything they say instantly no matter how insane or they're entitled to fatally shoot you (see: all the cops shooting tiny dogs claiming they were "afraid for their life"). Put that together with this guy's home culture and it's a bad combination.

Given he's said to have a prior history of excessive force - in particular, busting down a woman's door and arresting her when she apparently hadn't made any call for assistance - I'd say he probably should have stuck to economics.

That, or the fact this flathead had a university degree is a potent illustration of the low standards of US colleges.

Here's a not to all reporters. Please stop using the phrase paid administrative leave. Instead, write paid vacation. That is what is going on. The officer gets a paid vacation until everybody forgets about it. Then, he will go back to work as if nothing happened.

Empires have always tried to use non-locals as enforcers.

Even the violent crackdown on the Democracy protestors in Tiananmen Square was done by rural soldiers who came far from poor parts, far from Beijing, who saw the young protestors as nothing but priviledged whiners.

Pretty much, I'd estimate an IQ of 90 would be enough to graduate from some of them. Not retarded, but slow for sure.

I am sure several forum members have economics degrees and are.

Degrees don't mean anything these days. Unless it is from the right school and major.

I doubt this guy went to an elite school, so I doubt he was educated by Nobel prize winners.

Oh wait...There's something different about this one.

This shooting will show just how deep the double-standards are. Either it will be par-for-the-course (Mohammed is shielded from the consequences); or in a very cruel twist (as far as Mohammed is concerned), the system decides (this time) to break the mould and throw him under the bus, as the level of scrutiny will be far more intense given the racial role reversal, and also scrutiny will come from abroad, given the nationality of the deceased.
There are so many layers to this story. When its done and dusted, it might just confirm what many have been thinking all along.
