Hey guys,

Going to Brazil next week. I've been told to stay in Vila Mariana by a friend of mine. However, I notice that there is a park that is listed in a travel warning that says do NOT go here (the park is right next to this area).

Any advice of where to stay? I want to stay in an area like Condessa in Mexico. Nice area with bars and clubs.

Also, if anyone wants to meet up, I'm down.

Ibirapuera parque? Any reason why it says not go visit?

I think Vila Madalena is closest to Condesa in Mexico

I think that park is ok it has s lot of museums. I might check it out this week. But you will be much better off in pinheiros or vila madelena area.

I chose jardin paulista bc it is central and I am more concerned with sightseeing. But there's really no nightlife here.

Vila Mariana is a good choice. There's lots of night life and good restaurants along Rua Joaquim Távora and the neighboring streets.

Also, don't miss Ibirapuera Park during the day -- especially on the weekends. Great place for people watching and drinking coconut water.
