Some of mine:
- dwarf sized shadow man
- pants waving around like there is strong wind (pants are bent over my computer chair when I go to sleep)
- huge snake that was in my bed and crawled out and went behind the closet
- decaying corpse on computer table, in one instance just a decapitated head
What all these have in common is the following. While they may sound weird or scary when you read this post, they were not scary at all to me. They all happened when I suddenly woke up in the night or dawn. I discussed this matter with several people and while we all have our take on this, our thinking has mutual points. Here is my take on it.
As I said before dreams are experiences of the Astral realm. When you enter REM phase of the sleep, your awareness shifts from the physical reality to the Astral body which inhabits Astral realm which has then journeys (in lucid case, they are controlled journeys). When you suddenly wake up like me or Comte in the post above, this awareness suddenly shifts back to the physical body and that causes momentarily "overlap" of Astral and physical reality.
Its like you are watching Astral but with your physical eyes. That is when you see weird stuff like I or others mentioned. Castaneda talks about this too, but in his case, he actually practiced this overlapping.
Why is it not scary? Because when you dream, whatever shit you see doesn't make you frightened. You are frightened here, in physical reality. As you are still overlapping in the above mentioned moment, you have "properties" of the Astral body which lack feeling fear.
Windom Earle will probably recognize dream = separate reality correlation from the Twin Peaks. That is exactly what happens to the main character in the series when he has lucid dream and meets Astral beings. I recommend watching the series to those who never have if you want to have one insight into this whole matter.
