Some of you guys are overreacting just like the SJW's. This is normal. Honorary degree, building, field, etc. from somebody to donated a lot of money to a university. What's virtue signaling about that. Nothing unusual about that.

People are just freaking out because it's Trayvon Martin.

Trayvon Martin was a tattooed 17 year old shot while serving a 10 day suspension for drug paraphernalia, burglary tools, and possession of stolen jewelry and wedding bands.

He is then in a neighborhood that had a lot of break ins (which he was likely a part of) and then picks a fight with a gun owner, who has to shoot him while Martin punched him.

The kid had no future

Gotta agree with that, but I don't think the guys here are freaking out about it.
To be honest I think that many universities would be giving executed serial killers honorary degrees if the price is right.

The Treyvon Martin case was simply sold in a special light to the black community and we can blame the Fakenews media and Obama for that, but not the common folk. They are not going to go out and research the details on the net.

Let the boy rest, let his mom use her newfound cash to dream of a son that likely would never have gotten that degree. In another life he may do so.

Do you really not see the difference between a donor and a trouble-making teen who was shot while beating the shit out of someone and is only famous thanks to an egregiously misleading media campaign?

I agree it's tragic that he'll never get the opportunity to become an adult and turn his life around, but he's one of the last people in the world who should be honored and turned into a martyr.
